She’s been pretty quiet for a while there but now we know what Amira Elghawaby has to say lately anyway…
The report’s 15 recommendations include adopting a definition of anti-Palestinian racism at all levels of government, as well as related curriculum development, training and education.

There’s also a call for political and institutional leaders to speak out against such racism, provincewide reviews of how schools and school boards have handled reports of anti-Palestinian racism in schools, and creating a fund to support victims of hate-motivated crimes. Sounds like a good idea on the surface anyway.

Ms. Elghawaby was appointed as Canada’s first special representative on combatting Islamophobia in January, 2023.

She said the report demonstrates that civil liberties in Canada have been threatened since 2023 with limits on freedom of expression around Palestine and the protection of Palestinian, Muslim and Arab Canadians.

Framed as a new category of discrimination against Palestinians, their narratives, and their advocates, APR has been aggressively promoted since 2022, first in Canada and now across North America and Europe. Far from protecting human rights, APR is the latest weapon designed to delegitimize Israel and stigmatize its supporters.

Its proponents claim it targets discrimination that “silences, excludes, erases, stereotypes, defames, or dehumanizes Palestinians and their narratives.” In practice, however, APR functions as a tool of political censorship, punishing dissent and suppressing debate.
Call for Gaza’s demilitarization? Racist. Affirm Israel’s right to exist as a Jewish state? Racist. Say no genocide is occurring in Gaza or that there was never a state of Palestine? Racist. Cite Palestinian rejectionism, terrorism, or antisemitism? Racist. Wave an Israeli flag or affirm Jewish indigeneity in the Levant? Racist. Under APR, virtually every expression of support for Israel becomes a racist act.
“We know anti-Palestinian racism is a form of discrimination that can intersect with Islamophobia,” she said.

They aren't allowed to protest a slaughter? That's disturbing.

Is that what’s happening? That’s “your” interpretation of what they’re doing?

Hmmm….well, they are not doing that. Are Christians, who have churches to pray similar to Muslims who have mosques to pray in, blocking roadways in Canada to pray? If not then why not?

Are these folks blocking the roadways for their prayers, in a very public setting, in order to inconvenience as many others as possible….Could it be something other than they’re protesting a slaughter (sort of like what happened in Israel Oct 7th for example)??? Could it be that they’re daring someone to try and interfere, so that they can play the role of the victim?😳 I know it sounds crazy, but I’m looking at it from a different perspective.

Yes or no?

Last I heard "Chosen" ordinance dropped equals 6 Hiroshimas.

Quebec anxiety with the sight of public Islamic prayers has been present in some form “long before” the practice became a fixture of anti-Israel demonstrations.

what the government fails to realize is that when muzzies are praying they can't rape, gang rape, torture, behead and butcher folk. 💡 ;)
