Damn…what if…what if they (Israelis) hit the wrong camera on the wrong building?
Two journalists for Reuters and the Associated Press who were killed in an Israeli attack on a Gaza hospital were not "a target of the strike," a military spokesperson told Reuters on Tuesday, adding the army chief had ordered a further inquiry into how the decision to strike the hospital was made.

What if this is incompetence in bureaucracy instead of outright malice? In its statement on Tuesday, the Israeli military said troops had identified what it said was a camera "positioned by Hamas" in the area to observe its forces. It said they operated to remove the threat by striking and dismantling the camera.
The statement identified what it called "several gaps" that Israel's Chief of the General Staff had instructed be further examined:
"Firstly, a further examination of the authorization process prior to the strike, including the ammunition approved for the strike and the timing of the authorization.
"Secondly, an examination of the decision-making process in the field."
The statement said the Chief of the General Staff had emphasized that the Israeli military directs its activities solely toward military targets.
Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's office said on Monday that Israel deeply regretted what he called a "tragic mishap."
So why did this happen (not that you can see this anyway)? If the Israelis did this, and I’ve no reason to believe that they didn’t, did they do it for the positive public relations it would bring (?) or to further fuel the Hamas propaganda machine? Some combination of those two things?
This might solve the X-File (or J-File, or whatever), but leads to more questions, etc…
