Hey Risus, I know you are away for the weekend, but I had to post this so I don’t forget………..
Here is an example of Dion’s leadership, he asked Ms. Hughes to step down…..Not like Harper who thinks he can put the dirt under the carper, and Canadians will give him a majority…….I hope for the wellbeing of Canada the Conservatives will not pull a majority…..

"While I appreciate her apology, I cannot condone those sentiments in any way," he said. "I have therefore asked Ms. Hughes to step down as the Liberal Party candidate in Kildonan-St. Paul."

Conservative Leader Stephen Harper's contemptuous attitude toward high culture has earned him a furious reaction from Canada's artistic community, including a scathing commentary in yesterday's Globe by Margaret Atwood. But it should be nearly as upsetting to fellow Conservatives, who may be seeing their party's chance of a majority slip away.

What exactly are you trying to show us here Soc? I'm seeing that the Conservatives are a shoe in for
at LEAST a minority government at this point, and that the Green Party is doing amazingly well as
they're still pretty new as truly national players. I'm doubting that is what you are trying to point out
though, is it?

Are you trying to point out that the left leaning parties, if they stopped trying to chop each others
legs out from each other, happen to total more seats currently than the Conservatives? Perhaps that if
the one right of center party was to break into a cluster of squabbling parties, that the election would be
more fair to all the squabbling left leaning parties? What's your point with the LINK as it's just out there
on its own waiting for interpretation, and not being used to back up your interpretation.

Jack and Stephane have made it pretty clear that they're not interested in a coalition between each other
in that Jack thinks the Green Shift is insane, and Stephane says that Jack can go form a coalition with the
Marijuana Party and the Nudist Party and the 9/11 Conspiracy Party...Are you suggesting by posting that
LINK all out on its own that the obvious coalition would be between the NDP and the Conservatives,
assuming that the Conservatives don't win a majority and that the NDP don't end up as the official opposition?

The NDP and the Conservatives are both against the Green Shift, and for a Cap&Trade initiative. They can
find a middle ground on the oil sands issue. Is this what you're trying to show with your LINK?

The Green Party and the Liberals can then team up together making it easier for Elizabeth may to perform her
vanquilatrist act with Stephane Dion (when he speaks, I can barely see her lips move). Old Gil might be feeling
kind of lonely and left out at this point, and it would be awfully nice if Elizabeth and Stephane would let him
sit with them in the lunchroom. Is this what you're trying to show with your LINK? Just curious.

The Liberals did something cons couldn't do, gave us a strong economy, gave us a surplus and actually became the only G8 nation to pay down it's debt.

Yep, they destroyed it alright.

If my history is correct (or my interpretation of it is) the economy under the Liberals florish ONLY because, at the time the Reform Party was in parliament and were giving the Liberals a hard time about their fiscal policies. In the following election, the Reform Party at the time were quite high in the polls and while the Liberals won, it scared the bejezus out of them and they adopted some of the Reform policies and ta da - they done did good. That's not to take anything away from the Liberals. I like it when the opposition has a positive influence on the governing party. Should happen more often.

That's how I see it. If it wasn't for the Reform Party, this country would have been in a lot of financial trouble.

I agree with Harper. Have you seen some of the stuff that "we" the people are supporting? It's garbage!!

Personally I would build theatres, music academies, dancing academies, and more that would make the city live and colourful. I would not build jails to house 14 year old kids for 20 years (20 would be life in many cases) and I would build schools to help educate medical professionals so the world would come to Canada for medical education....

For Harper it is a problem to invest $45Million to keep the arts community working and give Canada a bright Ray of color for the world to see, but it is not a problem for the Harper Conservatives, to spend $5Billion in Afghanistan and go on the sh!t list of the Taliban, that is good strategy according to Conservatives……

The problem with Arts funding is that very few of us support any of them. The average Joe only cares about hockey and beer, and in a democracy..average rules.

Here is another phony announcement, the great manipulator Harper will give Canadian families a tax credit of $500, a carrot on the stick, total savings of nothing…Arts and culture is the fiber of Canada’s creative identity………Harper is out to distroy Canda…
Harper is soooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo dull he has no identity………

He also promised to introduce a new tax credit of up to $500 for music, art and drama lesson fees for children under 16. It will also be fully refundable, and is expected to cost the government $150-million a year.

How much did they pay out in Arts grants?
