Surely there must be more ideas. Discuss any and all:

Different/additional usergroups such as (just brainstorming here):
- Hall of Fame Member (recognized for x-amount of posts or voted in)
- Forum Leader (someone who leads a forum and has a some moderating capacity)
- SuperMember (can view on-line member summary, close own posts..)

Those are just thoughts. What about forums for members reaching target reputation level or post count? How about a member who can infract another?

Nothing above is right or wrong, just to get some ideas going.

I think it would be nice if we could restore the ability for all members to view the who's online summary again. I think some members miss having that feature available to them.

I also like the idea of creating a hall of fame for members that reach a certain post count.... but not too keen on seeing perks assigned to only certain members that have achieved a specific status. I think that might create cliques that would leave some of our members out because they're not as prolific in their posting habits. I'd like to see all the goodies strewn equally out to everyone! :p

Also, Praxious had a thread going somewhere about creating awards - I still like that idea.

And Hermanntrude was interested in a photography contest - that fell a bit by the wayside I think because it needed someone to organize and run it. Maybe we could look at doing something a bit more structured for that.

In the above two cases, I could see a benefit to recruiting a member to head those and other similar projects.

I'm not sure if it is showing. If someone can check and let me know that would be good.

OK, there are a 4 new groups based on posting levels. Since it's a politically oriented board the first three reflect the parliamentary system:

2500 posts = House
5000 posts = Senate
7500 posts = Executive
10000 posts = Hall of Fame

It will activate on the member's next post. Their name will appear in the color representing their level. All levels have the same forum access. Who knows, if the right kind of perk appears maybe it can be given to the HOF.

(note: the admin and mod colors/levels won't change)

I see that as people post it will cycle through them until reaching their level. For example, 1st post will go the regular, next to house, next to senate etc.

*giggle* Karrie gets a nice sarcastic purple....

As a member of the senate, please don't make me Tory blue....
I'm running out of colors. That one is teal. Any preference? We have to stay away from red, Senator Wolf.

Gee, dunno about that one.

While I have been given many good rep points, I have gotten a ton of bad rep points by Bush supporters who always make anonymous comments such as "idiot", "moron", "goof", and other sh*t because they cannot refute my posts. If it hadn't been for all that right wing hate my point level would have been a lot higher. Therefore, I suggest that the point system you mods created actually stifled a better exchange of ideas since the haters can get away with their anonymous villification because they are not able to engage in reasoned exchanges of ideas.
