Well, how many statues and paintings are around depicting nude kids, cherubs, and the like? Kids at the beaches with a tiny fraction of a yard of cloth on? I don't think squawking about pedophilia will get rid of it. Nor do I think anyone will become more aware of it. I think this PM is a bombast doing nothing but gaining favor for votes.
I think the law is simply too lenient on people. Judges are too far removed from everyone else's lives that they can't be very relevant to everyday life. It's easy for people who get sentenced to 10 years to be out in 3. Nab these bastards and throw them in the can for life w/o parole or time off for good behavior and build the place up in the middle of northern Manitoba producing goods for society and if they escape perhaps there'll be a polar bear left after this global warming thing's over to congratulate the buggers for escaping successfully.
Perhaps schools and places like that should have a couple people trained to watch for signs of pedophiles any time kids are out of class.
Just put them in prison with the general population and see how long they survive...
