Looks like more than half to me.

If our debt rose from something over a hundred and twenty billion dollars to just under 600 billion while bulroney was in office, who else do we blame. Maybe you need a remedial reading course.

Our debt rose from something over a hundred and twenty billion dollars to just under 600 billion in the nine years Mulroney was in office. Mulroney had a fifty or sixty billion dollar deficit every year he was in office. Is that so hard to read?

Run along ya little Liberal.

Really brave over the net aren't you......

What was that spike in '78, was that the purchase of Petro-Can?

A 40% increase is not as big a dollar figure if it is from about 20M, and it depends where those funds went.

A 40% increase when the dept is 20M is not equal to the same money as 27% of 1,000M, it is less.

Liberals took it from about 20M - 1,000M, from '84-'93 it went from 1,000M to 5,250M, or 80M compared to 4,250M, you do the math.

Anybody know who bought that plane and for how much compared to what we paid for it.

If an election is on its way, and has been forever, I believe that Harper's steam would be cut to a few puffs if the Trudeau sons got into the fray. Just seems though that Margaret cannot convince Sasha. Pierre would have encouraged him and convinced him. As we are becoming one of the world's leading nations we don't need a P.M. who is in Bush's back pocket.
Not only in Bushe's pocket but the Canadian tax payers have footed the bill for Harpers knee pads.

Narrow focus of Mulroney-Schreiber inquiry, adviser recommends

The judicial inquiry into the cash payments accepted by former prime minister Brian Mulroney should employ “alternative means” and shouldn't rely on public, courtroom-style hearings, a special adviser to Prime Minister Stephen Harper has recommended.

Prof. Johnston didn't rule out public hearings altogether, noting that some aspects “should be fully ventilated in a public proceeding.” But he encouraged the yet-to-be selected commissioner to uncover the truth with “more efficient” approaches, such as “confidential interviews” and a special “commission dossier,” that have been used in recent Canadian inquiries.

Fresh fodder, guys! Look at this...

MP barred from asking questions on Mulroney saga

A Liberal MP has been barred from asking questions on the Mulroney-Schreiber affair in Parliament, raising fears that a libel chill is set to extend into the House and committee rooms on the Hill.

Up until this week, Liberal MP Robert Thibault had been one of the opposition party's main questioners on the cash dealings between former prime minister Brian Mulroney and businessman Karlheinz Schreiber.

However, Ethics Commissioner Mary Dawson has barred Mr. Thibault from raising the issue further in Parliament because Mr. Mulroney has launched a $2-million lawsuit against Mr. Thibault for allegedly libellous statements on CTV Newsnet on the matter.

Ms. Dawson ruled that according to the conflict-of-interest code, Mr. Thibault now has a “private interest” in the controversy and he cannot debate or vote on issues related to it.

Isn't that a clever move of Mr. Mulrooney? Simply launch a suit against your main tormentor and he will have to shut up!!!

Possibly another 2 mill into Mulrooneys pocket! The guy is unbeatable!

What is really disturbing here is, the reason the Tories got obliterated in the 1993 election was because all Canadians were familiar with how sneaky Mulroney and his rat pack were during their tyrannical dismal time in power. Mulroney did not file income tax on time due to the uncertainty in his mind as to how he could fudge the fact he accepted brown bags of cash while in power. He can go and sue anyone in his way who calls him a crook but one thing he can’t sue, is the mirror when he looks at his stupid deceitful face. Mulroney has skeletons in his closet and they are heaving a chuckle as Mulroney is desperately trying to cover up. I really hope they get the loser he screwed Canada real good.:angryfire:
