Yeah, that's common to both sides of the dispute. Kinda like when a Palestinian decides to go "boom" in a market square, it's not like they are targeting the military.

When Israel dispatches armour into Palestinian neighborhoods that's "pre-emptive defense"....When America dispatches stealth bombers and cruise missiles into Baghadad in a foundationless war...that's "pre-emptive defense".

I remember the Second WW, and can truly say, "Baby, you've come a long way!" Now a soldier has a TV around his wrist that can show him exactly what's around the corner, or behind a hill!
Back then the enemy required hundreds of aircraft to drop tons of bombs - now we have smart bombs, guided missiles, cluster bombs and A-Bombs. Half a dozen planes is enough to carry them to the designated area.
Surgical precision bombs is another gadget that comes to mind.
We live in a different world now! But still no peace.
Mikey... as a young person I have often thought about a solution to avoid wars. My favorite idea was to put the top leaders of the conflict countries into a boxing rink, and the winner gets his wish. Imagine Hitler and Stalin fighting, or Churchill and Goering, both weighty, punching each other out! Today we could have had Bush with Saddam in the rink!! Or Olmert with the Hamas guy. It should be shown live on television world-wide!! What fun that would be!!:lol::lol:
Right Mikey, do you remember the Iranian revolution? It seem the revolutionairies did quite well in taking down an American backed and armed government? Same for Cuba, arms superiority doesn't gurantee anything.
They can go ahead and demilitarize the whole area, who wins doesn't really matter to me either way.

I think the Israelis are reasonably well-trained, and they use a high proportion of snipers. as well, they use rifles that you can actually hit something with, the ubiquitous AK 47 being a serious "spray and pray" weapon IMHO..........

I saw an interview with her, when she was in Isreal, she did her training.....the first day on the range the RO pulled her aside and asked where she learned to shoot. It was the first time she had ever fired a rifle...........off to sniper school with her........

The US weapons still didn't help the Sha stay in power or Batista, so weapons obviously are not the deciding factor in issues like that.
The palestinians have too much conflict from wihin their own country to ever assert them selves against Israel, and not too mention they receive only verbal support from their supposed arab allies. I'm sure you'll chalk that up to American bribes though
