I cannae find no PM function, Cap'n

Ah that would be the PM wall which prevents new posters from communicating with old posters which I don't understand but it's the rules. There is a number of posts you must have before you are extended the privilage, and I don't know what the number is but I understand it's in the rule book which is lying arround here somewhere.

Thanks for letting us know tehowe, I'll bring it to Andem's attention- he's the owner this forum, and guru of all things forum-related in general.

and btw, the restriction on pms is to prevent spammers from joining up just long enough to fill inboxes with unwanted thangs.... roughly 20 posts from you should sort that out for you.

btw, welcome to CC!

Either this thread is being censored, or there are serious problems with the engine. I'm trying to post a response, and it keeps getting deleted.
Hello tehowe. Sorry about the missing posts. Our forum will sometimes unapprove posts from new members when the posts have links. This is an anti-spam program. Without it, removing spam can be a full time job and Andem isn't prepared to pay us mods anymore than $50 per hour (we keep asking for raises to $60). I have approved those missing posts. You will find it stop doing that on you in short order, generally above 20 posts is the threshold. Thanks for your patience.

Gopher, your statement linking high unemployment to tragedies like this is non-sense. Considering the killer was a student, a high unemployment rate is moot. Also, do high unemployment rates cause mental illness as well, since most of the suspects in cases like this have serious mental issue?

Durka,

I did not claim there is scientific proof for it and did not invoke any scientific findings. All I did was to point out there seems to be some correlation.

Don't know how to find any solutions to these incidents. But higher capitol punishment rates and longer prison sentences that we have gotten under the Republicans certainly have not worked as deterrents.

The scary part for me was when I saw the headline and passed on it without feeling any kind of deep emotion. After 20+ years of hearing /reading about mass murders, it seems one becomes desensitized.
