As long as you and your husband are in total agreement with that solution - it's got to be both of you together in confronting an awkward situation for your son.

Personally I think if your story is true - you are darn lucky to have such a neat kid - and if he wasn't experimenting with his sexual desires - that would be a whole other worry.

The key here is not to 'shame him' - you might want to play up the humor and adult concept he has created - who knows he may be the next satirical comedy writer - your offspring.

Sounds like he can handle the family conference - be sure it's done with love, I repeat humor again, understanding, and helping him to cross over into the adult world where some things aren't always fun or intelligent.... as long as he can tell the difference or feels free to ask you both ......you will have given him a great gift of comfort with you both from the old crow harpie stuff of: Sex is bad.

No kid wants to feel shame...ever....please hold that in your heart.

I'm addressing a bunch of strangers because I wanted to hear from web savvy individuals. I do have a sense of humor, after all, and the pictures are far funnier than they are sexy; a school psychiatrist may not understand that. If it were identified as an internet meme I would no longer have to worry about whether or not my son has a very specific and potentially unhealthy fetish. Based on the replies thus far it doesn't seem like the pictures were part of a forward or downloaded from a humor website, and if he did indeed create an entire folder of political porn my husband and I will have an awkward talk with him this evening.

it is pretty weird stuff, but it's not impossible someone forwarded them to him, after all there's enough smutty spam in the world to fill twenty million inboxes, and the fact we haven't seen them is no proof they don't exist elsewhere. However if he DID make them himself I'd suggest you ask him several questions: most important is why he did it. Obviously he won't tell you "because i want to spank the monkey while looking at them" even if that's the case, although it seems unlikely (it DOES take all sorts to make a world, though). Perhaps he just likes the shock value and passes them to friends to enjoy their reactions.

Another question you might want to consider is that if this is YOUR computer, what is HE doing storing sensitive material like that on it?

Update

I think it's only fair to give an update after all the helpful replies to this topic.

Monday night my husband and I had a discussion about our son's creative collection of political art. Since my husband has a knack for computers he looked around our son's laptop to see if he could determine whether the pictures were downloaded or created. Sure enough, he found a separate hidden folder with the original, unedited images; there is no doubt that our little boy was the artist.

Yesterday evening we had a talk with him. It was awkward at first, but after we made it clear we were not angry he loosened up and explained that sometimes he prefers funny, ie humorous, porn, which also explains the blooper videos that were in yet another hidden folder. It's bizarre, but the thing my son was most defensive about were his photoshop skills! Apparently he purposely makes his edits obvious to add to the humor. :lol:

To sum it up:

• My son likes to look at and create images of politicians, both Democrat and Republican, in compromising positions.
• He is not looking to date a voluptuous girl with the head of Rudy Giuliani.

Thanks for taking me seriously. Someone suggested I post some of the images in the beach (wrecked beach?), which I may do later today assuming it is not against the rules.
