As far as the religion aspect, that's for Churches and parents to teach. The Lords Prayer was part of morning exercises - routine. Doesn't matter if you say: "My Harley Davidson who ain't on the highway. Hallowed be thy name."
It's still part of a ritual - structure, NOT scripture. If there's not simple discipline and tradition learned in school, kids learn it's okay to thumb their noses at everything - and they're doing a great job at it. If you want to read strictly religion into tradition, you're closing off a vital part of the education process.

Man, you guys have prayer on the mind. What are you a priest and a rabbi? The point is the structure of a morning routine that's been taken away or altered to appease people who aren't of the founding fathers. National anthem wasn't Oh Canada - and even that had to be changed to make everybody happy. Screw the political correctness!

Gangs, guns, drive-by shootings and bad enough that Government abandoned the Young Offenders Act for a Youth Justice Act ... and statistics say youth crime is decreasing?... Something doesn't add up and I believe it's the statistics....

You mean the Scourge of the 20's, 30's, 40's, 50's (the decade which began the explosion of youth gangs), the 60's with the massive riots, the 70's with the birth and rapid explosion of all the modern gangs (who are now far less youth controlled), even the 80's began on a sour note.
That you would accept the entertainment news industry (which used to consider it low brow to report on this , so previously it didn't) over cold hard date collected by judges and police officers just says you don't care what the facts are, you want their to be massive youth problems so you'll pretend there are.
You want to pretend the past wasn't full of gangs , so you pretend it wasn't.
Don't get me wrong, even in the worst of times Im sure 99% of kids weren't in a gang and didn't know anyone who was, but the numbers are even smaller now, regardles of the news coverage which show a handful of incidents from among a population of hundreds of millions.
