The seal hunt would stop if no one bought the product. A few natives might still take a few seals to make boots for themselves but that would be about it. Don't blame the hunter - blame the consumer.
The marine based omega 3 fatty acids are in short supply and high demand. Someone will always buy those fish oils. They are much better for you than the terrestrial omega 3 oils. http://www.fatsoflife.com/fatsoflife/omega-3-fats.asp

you're assuming the seal hunt SHOULD stop. why? can you come up with any reasons that tamarin hasnt come up with? ie one that hasn't already been rebuked (other than "it's offensive", which also applies to crap music and the man at the end of the road who plays three recorders at once, but there's no-one trying to ban them)
when you mentioned "blame" that suggested there was something for someone to be blamed for, which suggested you felt it was bad and therefore should be stopped. That was my reasoning. Sorry for the misunderstanding
Guess we'll have to boycott Newfoundland products to get the message home to the folks on the Rock. Suitable name that.
So who can give us a list of Newfoundland made items that we can actually seek to avoid?
