USA
A nice dream that, and it will happen one day. One day a new world power will arrive, and American will become a historical footnote. All empires fade away.

I'm not a fan of my government's policies at home or abroad at the moment, but it's just irrational how many people hate us so deeply that they are blind to the alternatives. Do you really think China would be a better world superpower? A country that has a horrible human rights abuses record against its own citizens, that feels their people are ethnically superior to all others, a communist authoritarian government ruling the world? Let's see how you like it when that day comes. My best guess is you'll be wishing for the good ol' days when the US was the world's superpower.

I just find it so funny how Canadians are so anti-US when more than 80% of your trade is with us, your military practices with ours, our nations have a very close and profitable economic and diplomatic relationship that works for both countries yet Canadians have some obsession with constantly attacking us.

I don't hate the USA.. i really respect it as a nation.

As the old hit FOX News Channel promo goes:

America's got problems..
...America is not one of them

I trulythink that saying is pure genius.

Canada doesn't realize all we get from our relationship with the USA and they constantly bash the USA... but I'll tell you, I am not one of those people, and I defend the USA to people who attack it. On forums and in person.

What about the country that gave you birth? That sustains you and gives you a home? One thing that annoys me, to be honest, are those Canadians who seem to think the grass is greener or better under the Stars and Stripes, but seem to still be here in Canada.

I plan to go to USA in the future. But its not that easy.. Green cards, and other issues, and $$ to set up a life there..

Trust me, if I had the ability and chance I would be in the USA as quick as possible.

If you wish to live in the states, that is certainly your choice. I can't imagine anybody with a mind actually WANTING to move to such a violent country, but that is your choice.

wow, just wow.

A violent country.. every nation has their problems, I respect America for actually dishing out justice for its criminals, instead of lienient Canadian justice.

And you insulted me of being stupid. You must be pretty ignorant, because their is alot of Canadians who have America close and dear to their heart.

Alot of seniors live their half the year, and many more, wish, like me, that they could live there.

CDNbear, I am 100% serious about my feelings of America.. is it wrong for a Canadian to like the nation and one day want to live there without being labelled a parody?

Yes, it is wrong. Dishing out justice? I Am so surprised, for obviously their dishing out is not working in terms of curbing their criminals. But hey, since you dislike our nation so much, why are you on a Canadian forum?

Because deep down I still have a hope Canada will turn around into a respectable nation I could one day be proud of (thats pretty high hopes though).

In the USA, they have alot of criminals, but the DEAL with it, sometimes its effective other times it is not.

Canada doesn't deal with our criminals, they throw lenient sentences at them.

I haven't posted with you much canadarocks, but I haven't had a good impression so far.

It's not your feelings on America, hell I agree with most of them, it was your comment about FOX news and its intro.

America's biggest problem is...

America, its foriegn policy, its leadership, its oil hunger, etc.

You took the comment out of context.

Its a promo for the #1 cable news channel that dominates the ratings: FOX News Channel ! that does the patriotic music and says:

America's got problems

America is not one of them.

Its one of those ones you have to think about to understand. America's has probs. But America fundementally is not a problem. The fundamental nation, is not the problem. It means America doesn't need to be changed (the constitution), the issues and people in it do.

I feel I am a good Christian person who values all humans regardless of race and ethnicity, and I am not one that doesn't run from a challenge.

But the attitude you go about it doesn't make one want to deal with a person of your demeanour.

So I don't like to get involvled with people who "challenge" in your style.

canadarocks... AMERICA rocks!

Your best quess is just a quess, right, I mean you don't know much about the USA do you. The hate is not irrational but Americans generally don't understand where that hate comes from,if you did it wouldbe easier for you to understand, no country has abused human rights like America has.
In that vien you are truly #1. Americans feel they are morally superior to all others. You don't even live in democracy .

The fact is, you have been making some very general statements without anything of substance to back your claims.

You are ridiculous. Most places in this country are very safe. I am not scared to be alone at night where I live. It's just about being smart and steering clear of inner city ghettos where the violence is mostly concentrated (and most of it is gang related violence, not attacking perfect strangers).

No, I've only lived here my whole life and know NOTHING about it. That's right some Canadian who has probably never been here knows more about our country than people who live here

The hate is not irrational but Americans generally don't understand where that hate comes from

Yes, it is irrational. Every little thing we do is magnified into some great offense. Canada and the US are close allies and trading partners. We've done nothing towards Canada for Canadians to dislike us so much other than be a more powerful nation than Canada which I think a lot of Canadians are jealous of. They wish to be seen as more significant rather than our kid brother to the North (a lot of people from other countries even see your country as the same as ours and it kills Canadians to be in our shadow so that's where the insults stem from).

no country has abused human rights like America has.

You are such a liar. Prove it. Name all our human rights abuses and I will list many countries that treat their citizens like dogs and other countries' citizens worse.

In that vien you are truly #1. Americans feel they are morally superior to all others.

Where did you get this impression? I've never gotten the impression that Americans see ourselves as morally superior to other people. Are you just pulling complaints about our country out of your a**? Because you've posted nothing but incoherant ramblings with no justifications behind them.

You don't even live in democracy .

Are you talking about the elecoral college? Or that elites decide most of the policy? If it's the latter I agree, but I doubt the average Canadian has much of a say in the way Canada is governed either. But at least we don't lock our citizens up for thought crimes like you do up there in Canada.
