Fair enough, I just hate that any time I put down homosexuals people make comparisons that I'm a racist. I strongly think that people were not born gay. Were child molesters born attracted to children?

I don't really mind gay people, it's gay pride that annoys me.
No, you wouldn't be racist, you would be bigotted.
Ask a child molester.
If you don't like gay pride, ignore it like I do.

Don't be rediculous. Every once in a while, there is a woman who is minding her own bedroom, business and neverminding everyone else, but she is not being treated respectfully.
So that is the fault of gays?
Similarly, a spouse or Gay person could be 'neverminding' according to your statement and still run into problems simply because they are recommended for the "neverminded", Gay, homosexual, a wife, colleague, peer, or other.
Huh? Gys run into problems because they are recommended for other people? I don't get it.
Anyway, so you think people shouldn't live and let live? Or you don't think people should mind their own business? Or either one?

Allow me to introduce the concept that women, as well as men, homosexuals and others, can mind their own bedrooms, business and lives ... without threat. They appreciate everyone else's ... nevermindedness.

Eh.
Isn't that what I said? Or was I posting in Greek or Chinese or something?

Nope. I think religions think they have the game of marriage all sewed up and they invented it and so on. They're wrong. They have holy matrimony all to themselves. Marriage is a non-specific term, holy matrimony refers to a religious rite. All gays want is marriage for the most part. I suppose some would like the religious thing but that would be up to the denomination and its rules and regs.

So you'd consider any gay marriage to be illegitimate regardless of whether done in a church or a judge's chambers. Interesting.
What retirement plan?

Why?

First of all, marriage is not a game, even if you don't have children.
'
Marriage is actually a rather specific ritual that is pointless without either children, or the intention of having children.

I don't really care what Gays or Conversative Liberal Republican Democrats want ... marriage is a sacred event and deserves some consideration. Same sex people wanting "marriage" because it gives them some security is anti-sacred ... as in ... not focused on the traditional values of marriage. It's bull**** and ... waiting to hear from the homosexuals why they want to be married ...

I can't imagine a reason why Gays want to have a judicial marriage certificate. It means nothing to heterosexuals ... what makes homosexuals think it will have meaning?

It's a figure of speech. Get over it.
Anyway, to me and my wife, marriage is a whole pile of things: it's a game, it's a commitment, it's a war, it's asport, it's a competition, it's pleasure, etc.

Pointless to you, but not to everyone, obviously.

Sacred, my ass. Before Christianity was inflicted upon the Inuit, getting married was accomplished by the each of the couple putting a stick on the ground so as to make an "x".

I can't imagine a reason why Gays want to have a judicial marriage certificate. It means nothing to heterosexuals ... what makes homosexuals think it will have meaning?
Not much imagination, huh? Anyway, why not ask them?

At least with gays out of the closet, if the whole marriage thing turns out badly and the institution itself is irreparably harmed, we'll know where to find them and who they are. And we'll recognize all their enablers. There's some consolation in that. Some comfort. And then we'll have to decide what to do about it. A necktie party in the carnival tradition of old Rome? Could be fun!

I will apologise in advance if I have misunderstood what you are saying. "Neck Tie Party"? If you are suggesting "enablers" of gay marriage be hanged, well then. "Hiel Tamarin". I do have some French blood and besides who wants to be hanged if the faccists take over?
Until then I'll support peoples freedoms so as to have my own.:|

Perhaps if the church stopped discriminating against them they wouldn't need parades.

Which church? The United Church accepts homosexuals. I seriously don't see the RCC changing its doctrines, do you? Anglicans..well, they don't know what they are half the time anyway-Catholic or Protestant. About the only legit Anglicans, in my opinion, are the ones who had the balls to stand up to the Communion and form the ACC in this country.

No, I am just annoyed that Non-Christians/Atheists jump in and make judgements, when the thread-starter, was looking for a Christian point of view. They can goto the political version of this thread if they want to debate their aspect of it.

It just ticks me.. I want a discussion of Christians, as that is what the original thread intended it to be.
Probably about as much as you tick people off with your racist views of Natives. Seeing as you are not CC's version of the Gestapo, I for one won't stop offering my Non Christian view, when Christians attack(I'm submitting that to the FOX network for the fall seasons primetime line up). Especially since it annoyes you.
Adam and Steve......has a nice ring to it doesn't it.
It does and it doesn't bother me one bit.
Done.... bring leather shorts and lots and lots of Cheese-Whiz, oh and a spatula.
The wifes a Domme, should I bring her, the Floggers and cuffs??? I think my St. Andrews Cross is back from the shop.

My personal opinion and it always has been, is, there are two groups of individuals on the "homo's bad" team. The first group find anything beyond humping missionary style to be crude, rude and socially unacceptable, the second group likely have homo-erotic fantasies and are to cowardly to come out, go out and get themselves some. Seeing as there is no impurical data on this, I'm gunna have to throw out a 50/50 split. So you folks on the "homo's bad" team can fight out whos who on your own.

On this issue, I'm not sorry at all to say I have to support the same sex marriage couples. First off, if anyone thinks that their marriage is de-valued because a same sex couple is also married, they should start by building on whatever tenuous relationship it is that they have.

It reminds me of Mr. Hardawy, the former basketball star who speaks out on a radio talk show days after another former player releases his book, the perverbial coming out of the closet. He does so becuase he feels homophobia is still rampant. Then Mr. Hardaway proves Mr. Ameachi right by going on a tirade about how it shouldn't be allowed in the world or in the USA for that matter. He would force a trade to get rid of Ameachi or himself if he had too. Pretty strong convictions, locker room and what not.

These tirades expose people for the homophobes that they are: they can't love like us, they can't be parents like us, they can't be team mates like us. Get over yourselves is what I have to say to that. If you think you have some mandated right to tell other people that they can't have their rights, as many have said before, enjoy your fascist futures. Also as someone has said, marriage is not the sole ownership of any one institution. The idea that we can trample the rights of a minority, be they racial minorities or sexual orientation is unbelievable. Is this similar to how people feel about immigration? That maybe when they try to force their foreign customs on us, we'll loose ours? What a pile of crap. Anyone who knows how the charter is set up knows that rights can't supercede what is written in law, and technically rights aren't supposed to be limited by new legislation either. Again I say, if your rights are limited by this new legislation we have, show me where.

Someday soon, there will be shows like Borat on exposing homophobes for their ignorance.

04) Straight marriage has been around a long time and hasn't changed at all.

05) Straight marriage will be less meaningful if gay marriage were allowed.

06) Straight marriages are valid because they produce children.

07) Obviously gay parents will raise gay children.

08) Gay marriage is not supported by their religion.

09) Children can never succeed without a male and a female role model at home.

I'm of two minds. I oppose gay marriage because I got no problem with gays and wouldn't wish such horrors on them. Other hand, I kinda favour it because I'm a lawyer and there's gold in them thar hills. Gay divorce. It's a license to print money.

First off, learn how to quote, idiot.

Second. You resurrect a necro thread from 6 and a half years ago and paint the entire board with your brainless broad strokes. Go troll somewhere else little boy. We'll chew you up and spit you out in a heart beat on this board.
