Read the whole thread. It was a long night of opinions.

i did. i just dont think its normal, it freaks me out. theres a homosexual guy in my school and he gets beat up allot so anybody who thinks times are changing is not looking with eyes wide open.

i dont care who anybody sleeps with, none of my business, but vinod asked for who is for or against and that is why i answered.

Amazing exchanges here... I'm still wondering if the originator got run over by a truck or is still hiding under his bed

PsyOps - perhaps you have had a few very unproductive consultations with a psychologist or counselor - it did not go well ........yes?

Or........Perhaps we should adhere to the long standing advice:
Do not give beer to anyone under fourteen on a Saturday nite?

Just want to clear something up.... Speakout has something not quite accurate in their Immigration section:

Federal rights NOT Covered by Civil Unions
Immigration Rights: Cannot have a non-U.S. spouse become a full citizen.

Most to-be spouses of American citizen have to become a registered alien and go through all the documentation for that status. Then they can get married or have a civil ceremony if they are
in a state which allows it. It does not speed up the process however...whether marriage or civil....

Being "married" to a citizen does not hurry the process up....especially these days. Too many people from foreign nations have abused that situation.

A spouse or partner can file for permanent citizenship after the time period as a legal alien has been served whether married or not.....and again it has little to do with being married to a U.S. citizen.

I believe divorce lawyers have a hand in that pot as well.

Agreed. Though when it comes to homosexual people, I could care less what they do as long as they are not around my family. We pulled one of my boys out of a soccer league once when it came out one of the coaches was a homosexual. We complained to the league, but it was to no avail. No way in hell we were leaving our young son in situations where he'd have contact with a homosexual male.

Ok who all are against and who all are in favour of Gay marriage?
Generally I'm for it.
I am definitely for civil unions. I am only against marriage if the particular faith that the gays want to be married under is against it. For example, if the Bahai will allow gay marriage but the Jainists won't, the gays should be alklowed to get married in the Bahai faith. Religions don't own marriage or a lot of aspects of people's lives, but they'd sure like to have control over everyone. I don't like the activist sort of gay issues (gay pride parades and whatnot) but they happen so I ignore them. But the rest of gay culture is relatively sedate and quiet. Kinda like most others. What goes on inside their lives is none of my business and I refuse to try and control anyone or have control over anyone.

Divided. I do get tired of minorities forcing the rest of us to succomb to their agenda, but on a day to day basis it has nothing to do with me. I think it's a trend that will pass, or not?

Also, I do think the young lass in question was flirting with that line of what would be considered a breach of the Canadian Human Rights Act. But I'm no lawyer, heh.

Why? Was he a pedophile, too? The two aspects aren't very closely related, you know.

Nope. Maple's ok and I like her. She voices her opinion but she also at least accepts others opinions and evidence. Pissup won't accept anyone else's opinions and refuses evidence or post any that substantiate his positions and she makes outrageous claims. Huge difference between Maple and Pissup.

Good point. Agreed
