Um, Ancient Greek society was openly homosexual, and a practicioner of Pedastry (ie, a form of apprenticeship whereby a young boy would trade sexual favours to an older man in exchange for his education). Pedastry was also common among Samurai in Japan.
Thats not bigotry, thats fact.
Ancient Rome was also openly Prison Gay, Ie, there was nothing wrong with being gay as long as you're "the man" (lesbianism was a crime against nature though). Being "the woman" made you a Cinneadus (sp?) which was the worst insult you could call someone and forbid you from having any form of public standing or office.
