Candlemas Crescent Cakes

by Gerina Dunwich
1 1/4 cups Flour
3/4 cup Sugar
1 cup Finely Ground Almonds
3 drops Almond Extract
1/2 cup Butter or Margarine, softened
1 tablespoon Honey
1 Egg Yolk
In a large mixing bowl, combine the first four ingredients. Add the butter, honey and egg yolk and mix together well. Cover with aluminum foil or plastic wrap, and then chill for 1 1/2 to 2 hours in the refrigerator.
When ready, pinch off pieces of the dough (about the size of plums) and shape them into crescents.
Place the crescents on a well-greased cookie sheet and bake in a 325-degree preheated oven for approximately 20 minutes. (This recipe yields about one dozen Candlemas Crescent Cakes.)

Your taking classes? In what? had friends over for dinner this weekend. Did skinless, boneless chicken thighs. My own breading with spices, parsley flakes and paprika. Plus a Treacle/maple wine vinegar sweet and sour sauce. Baked on baking sheet 20 min at 400F. Still using new to cooking as my excuse if things don't work, but in this case they were awesome. Ooh getting all happy and giddy over ability to cook chicken thighs. lol

His next workshop is past life regressions but its 75 and Im not that flush so I'll pass. Fae sends me all things in perfect timing.

To save myself from grief and aggrevation I "try" to avoid Christian and Conservative forums. I say "try" as sometimes I can't help myself from wading in and giving my .02$ worth. As a practicing pagan and liberal I'm just asking for greief.

This has left me thinking all night. Why should I hide my Paganness? Or mu Libralism? I am who I am and Im proud of the path I walk. I hurt noone which is more than that could be said of others.

My being Pagan has saved my life. Its a warm blanket I can soothe the cold nights with. I offer nothing but give all in my belief. I dont tell people its the ONLY way, I dont preach that my godess and god are the only ones. I leave an open circle for all to join in an share the fellowship of Human Beings. I speak my truth and I hold to them to fastly at times but only because I know the pain behind the bend because i walked it many miles before.

My life is transparent, an open book, for others to read or not. My Love is free and my tears many, My heart, well my heart also carries many. I Love deep, I hurt deeper, I am faithful as a friend and a daughter of my chosen deities. Life in my opinion cannot be lived on the side of caution but must be lived............just lived.

Just my .02 cents ;) You bring out the better in me......Wado.

For me it's kind of a home turf thing. Go to their forums and you are the visitor, no home field advantage or even neutrality. A good debate on neutral terms, yes, but chances are we will find a christian forum populated with for the most part christians. I would not surf a woman's forum. There may be good discussions going on but I am just visiting the site. The chances are very good also to see topics debated that you have no hope of winning because of preconceived notions and ingrained ideas. We also need to pick our fights. Sun Tzu says "If you cannot win do not fight." I hate going to gun control threads cause it gets me all worked up and emotional. Getting all worked up and emotional is not a good thing without a positive result.

Have changed shifts yet agin. On my way home. Have a good night.

Ive pondered what to say here and Ive decided not to go into details why I disagree. If I did Id be setting myself up for more grief. Lets just say I disagree with your reasoning and if your just absolutely curious why then PM me and Ill explain it there. :)

I have a pretty good idea, why. If you find yourself all wound up, tight as a ceremonial drum and on the verge of being banned or given a time out, you won't be surprised, will you? I hate getting that way myself. Then again I have no past personal experiences which may cause me justifiable grief and hostility towards the "church".

I have ahuge wooden mallet at home which is perfect for pounding down marinated pork loin and turning it in to what I call a cutlet. Perfect for a quick sautee.

Yes I was right you are very smart ;) I personally dont think Ive said or done anything I havent seen a mod do or say in the heat of a discussion so I think Im pretty safe so far. But I might borrow your mallet sometime :)

Im still working on my chicken soup with orzo, Its so comforting and stretches the groceries out a bit. I get very proud of myself for working my budget so well.
