Yeah, it’s “almost” the same, being the things that they’re bragging about are the same (flyover rights, ability to set up military bases, etc…), but the difference is that if the people of Greenland declare independence from Denmark, they’re still saddled with America deciding who they can can’t trade with, etc…so in that respect, it’s more like the Venezuela agreement, but with this current “deal” Trump stops threatening to potentially take them over militarily.
Trump is smart. He negotiates from a negative & eventually gets what he wants. It sounded so rash & now everything makes sense. Good on him for getting a good deal!!

Good on them, I guess ????? The fact that Trump generally gets to where he wants to go is not news. At least, unlike the mafia, he doesn't condemn people to die because they don't like him. He simply calls them out & he's entitled to do that, as we all are!

Trump since he was a toddler, I’m assuming he “generally got to where he wanted to go,” and that’s the reason he doesn’t understand the word no now, regardless of who says it to him, or when, or about what, which might explain several of the rape accusations, but let’s just leave that alone.

As far as not condemning anyone to die because they don’t like him, I’m assuming you don’t mean like the population of Cuba because he doesn’t like their leadership and they don’t like him, or the president (the actual one that’s sitting somewhere in New York waiting for his trial) of Venezuela that spoke back against Trump, or the 200 or so people that were on boats and were blown up in the ocean and accused of being drug dealers without a judge or a trial? Those kind of not condemning people to die sort of thing if you mean ‘literally’ to die, and ‘not figuratively’ to die.

Remember, when some of the politicians or retired military in the US, stated that when the current administration is blowing up people in the ocean that they said were drug dealers without a judge or a trial, and that those are illegal orders and they shouldn’t be followed….Do you remember Trump‘s reaction?

In the end, he couldn’t do it, but he stated, that advising current US military soldiers to not follow illegal orders was "seditious behaviour, punishable by death" and where do you think he was going with that? This coming from the same guy who got five deferments to avoid having to fight for his nation during the Vietnam war (four for education and then once he was out of school, he then developed bone spurs, etc…).

The remarks drew sharp, bipartisan condemnation from lawmakers who called it a dangerous threat against elected officials. Trump later stated in an interview that he was not “actually” threatening the lawmakers with death when not even the Republicans backed him on that one.

People don’t have to actually not like Trump, or even have an opinion about him, if their deaths are politically expedient like that couple hundred on boats that have been literally blown up.

So you are crying over drug runners despite the problems drugs create in your own community .

I was answering and replied to the above statement, about extrajudicial killings pertaining to:

“At least, unlike the mafia, he (being Trump) doesn't condemn people to die because they don't like him.”

Crying about them, and pointing them out, are two very different things. Do you also take exception to this?:

What do you mean by drug runners? Where are you not seeing them? The question is pretty vague, so it’s pretty tough to answer without guessing at the variables. Where you live, you were seeing many before and not many now? Can you please clarify?

Well it seems that blowing these high powered boats out of the water has been rather effective .

hearing nothing of them , must have been an effective strategy . But yes there is still lots of drug problems in the lower mainland .
The last one the US blew up with a missile was so 11 days ago, but compared to everything else that’s going on it just wasn’t that newsworthy I guess. Barely mentioned.

Blew up a speedboat in the Caribbean I mean, and they say four dead, without a trial or a judge or jurisdiction…but with all the other craziness going on in the world, it got a mention and got drowned out (no pun intended).

“IF” they were guilty of anything beyond being in the wrong place at the wrong time. I hear what you’re trying to say assuming they were guilty of something beyond being just politically expedient scapegoats. The Trump administration has not publicly released or provided Congress with hard evidence proving that the individuals killed in the (at least 69 so far) maritime missile strikes were guilty of drug trafficking or anything at all, but politicians never ever lie, so no proof or corroborating evidence (or any evidence at all?) needed, right?

I mean, “if” even 10% of these people on boats where actually guilty of a crime, it justifies all of them being attacked and executed without any proof whatsoever that they where guilty of anything whatsoever, right?

I mean, the short, grainy video clips posted to Trumps own social media by President Trump and Secretary of War Pete Hegseth showing vessels being obliterated by missiles is all the proof anyone (including to the 200+ probably non-America dead and their families?) need to justify these extrajudicial killings, right? At least for some of these kinetic missile-strikes, right?

Its absolutely necessary to fire Hellfire Missiles from Reaper Drones at civilian boats in International Waters completely destroying everything (including any evidence of any wrongdoing or lack there of) because pre-Trump-second-term there was just no way to stop or intercept a boat to investigate and arrest and convict anyone if they were guilty of a crime, right?

Justifiable evidence is just for the peasants and peons, right? Not for those who are above the law.
The Trumpian Arch in Washington DC also has to be built for national security reasons, and the White House Ballroom has to be built for national security purposes, and so on and so forth…

I wasn't referring to terrorists, I was referring to Americans (other than Military of course). Unfortunately, there have been losses there). But Trump isn't going around nor is anyone of his administration, stabbing, bombing, et al Americans unlike the Iranian regime who does it on a regular basis. Big difference.

Besides if you speak to people who know Trump, they say he's willing to listen to everyone around the table, asks relevant questions and THEN makes the decision. I've heard that said many, many times on various U.S. radio stations when these people are interviewed. I have come to the conclusion while Trump isn't perfect & I especially don't like some of his comments. But I guess if everyone hated me as much as they hate him, I'd be saying some pretty stupid things as well because people attack him a lot of the time for no reason or made up reason thus the "fake news". Anyhow, that's my POV.

What I find REALLY interesting, is how he was so admired prior to running for President & the next thing you know he's Hitler in disguise. Well if that's true, he's doing a terrible job of being a Hitler!!

Port of Vancouver is a major gateway for drugs into North America. Security is lax, The local story that the port is controlled by biker gangs, and it is one of the worst run ports in the world.

Jacob Frey, the mayor of Minneapolis, Minnesota, said in the video he shared on Instagram on Wednesday: “Hey Canadians. We like you guys, we miss you. We don’t think of you as the 51st state. We know that you’re a sovereign nation.”

Amid Canadians’ souring attitudes towards the U.S., Mayor Frey isn’t the only politician to personally urge his northern neighbours to visit. In April 2025, California Governor Gavin Newsom shared a video promoting tourism to the Golden State, in which he said: “Sure, you-know-who is trying to stir things up back in D.C., but don’t let that ruin your beach plans.”
Florida voters are weighing whether to scrap residential property taxes and the state's governor has a solution to that potentially huge revenue loss: tax Canadians more. Canadians who own property in Florida describe the threats to shake them down for more money as just the latest insult in a series of them since U.S. President Donald Trump returned to power last year with a decidedly anti-Canada agenda.

Canadians own an estimated $60 billion US worth of property in the Sunshine State. DeSantis has explicitly described them as a resource to tap to close expected budget gaps. "I want Canadian tourists and Brazilian tourists subsidizing the state and making it so Florida residents pay less taxes. I don't want to give Canadians a tax cut."
DeSantis initially mocked the trade war-induced travel boycott, saying he didn't think it would meaningfully materialize, only to see his state tourism bureau report a double-digit drop in Canadian arrivals last year.😲 Canadians have pumped a lot of money into Florida’s economy over the years. I wonder if there’s anywhere in that general neighbourhood of the Gulf of Mexico America Mexico with a similar climate to Florida?
