My dad still gets the Saskatoon Star Phoenix. I think just for the sudoku. He says it doesn't even contain the sports scores.
Some are still available. The two Vancouver dailies that are owned by the same company, Times communist in Victoria. A few of the free weekly locals that are more advertising than news.

I think ObamaCare helped most Americans. It was passed with a democrat president and republican congress and senate. I think FDR did several reforms that helped most Americans. Lots of the labour laws protecting workers came from that era. I doubt any bill or reform went in unopposed. For some of this stuff, a gain might be a loss for someone else. A 40 hour work week means a company owner needs to hire more workers. He may not view that as a benefit to him.
