Reminded me. We were in Ukie a couple of weeks ago. Fish plants were busy even on the weekend. Eagles Nest is still the pub. Rest of the place is now called Far West Resort. Only boats at the dock were charter fishing boats. Sky Couch has been removed.

Like the Eagles Nest , drank more than a few beers there . Not as close to the Whisky dock as the hotel but nicer environment for some reason . And still within staggering distance to the boat .

Pretty much . Lovely little town on the west coast of Vancouver Island , It has a great harbour that supports both commercial and sport fishing , some awesome beaches and hiking trails .

We visited there a few times when we were building the trail. A couple of flaggers had one of the cabins. Pretty crude even by logger standards. The plan is to replace them with high priced condos.

To politicians a lie is as good as the truth if you can get someone to believe it. Sometimes better, when you want the people with facts that do not agree with the dogma to work harder.

But just give it about four decades and take a street view stroll on Google Earth and see how time has transformed them into urban sprawl malls and big box store wastelands. One was St Cloud Minnesota the other Vernon BC. So sad to see that happen.
Fishing villages sound kind of cool though, west or east coast.

You can't afford a fishing viliage on the West coast. Even dead mill towns are running million dollar range.

They will sell it is a great place for both recreation and permanent residence if one has the employment . Where else can you find breakfast in your back yard . Periwinkles , clams , mussels , various types of seaweed on the cost , did I mention fishing from the rocks ? Or setting crab traps , wild mushrooms too . Yes they will sell .
