Like a lizard sunning itself on a rock, US President Donald Trump has held a meeting to make a "final determination" about an agreement to extend a ceasefire with Iran….on a Friday afternoon. What time does the stock market close for the weekend in the US again?

He trumped that Iran must agree to never have a nuclear weapon or bomb, that the Strait of Hormuz be reopened for "unrestricted shipping traffic, in both directions", and that any mines in the waterway are "destroyed". Friday's meeting was held in the White House's Situation Room, used for dealing with major crises. Iran earlier said it was not negotiating its nuclear programme.

Since the ceasefire came into effect on 8 April, Trump has repeatedly suggested the US and Iran are close to a deal and negotiations are progressing on Fridays, but so far there have been no substantive results or outright confrontations over the weekends before the stock markets would open on Mondays.

In Friday's post on Truth Social, Trump said he was prepared to lift the US blockade of the Strait of Hormuz and ships caught in the waterway "may start the process of "heading home!" He also insisted Iran allows the US to remove and destroy its enriched uranium, so hold onto your hats and your wallets, as it’s about 60 hours until Monday morning. Later on Friday, a White House official confirmed to the BBC that the meeting in the Situation room had concluded. The official provided no further details.
Is Bibi going to stop the land grab in Lebanon, exit Gaza and completly remove illegal settlements in West Bank as required or is this just a waste of time?

They just took another 5% of Gaza yesterday, why would they stop and go backwards today? Not enough children sacrificed to their hooved god yet?

U.S. President Donald Trump said on Friday he would soon decide on a proposed deal to extend the ceasefire with Iran, though the two countries still appeared to differ on significant issues ‌that have been central to the conflict.

"President Trump will only make a deal that is good for America and satisfies his redlines. Iran can never possess a nuclear weapon.” Trump also said Iran would have to end its chokehold on the Strait of Hormuz and dismantle its capacity to make a nuclear weapon - two conditions that Tehran has not agreed to.

"Iran must agree that they will never have a Nuclear Weapon or Bomb. The Hormuz Strait must be immediately open, no tolls, for unrestricted shipping traffic, in both directions," Trump said, adding that nuclear material would be "unearthed" by the U.S.

(It’s a pattern it seems that when Trump is in shit up to his genitals, he takes a lie and repeats it as a sound bite over and over for the low information voters, as if it’s real and written in stone as gospel)

Iran's semi-official Fars news agency, citing sources, said Trump's comments were an "attempt to portray a fabricated victory."🤔

The senior Iranian source, speaking on condition of anonymity, said the potential deal does not include any nuclear-related issues, while Iran's Foreign Ministry spokesperson Esmaeil Baghaei said on state TV that the management of the strait must be decided by Iran and Oman.

Fars said the strait would be reopened under Tehran's conditions after the U.S. lifts its blockade on Iranian ships. A senior Iranian source told Reuters an agreement was close but had not yet been approved.

Trump ‌said no money would be exchanged "until further notice" - a possible reference to Iran's demands for toll payments in the strait, war damage reparations or a release of frozen Iranian assets. Fars said there was agreement to release $12 billion of Iran's frozen assets.

Trump is under pressure to reopen the Strait of Hormuz and get U.S. gasoline prices down ahead of the November congressional elections (that he doesn’t care about😉), as voters show increasing frustration over rising prices. At the same time, he faces a potential backlash from Iran hawks in his own party over any concessions to Tehran.
Less than 60 hours until Monday morning when stocks will fall & oil will jump again. Traders have been whipsawed by abrupt turns in rhetoric, but hopes that a ceasefire deal could pave the way for an end to the Iran conflict helped drive stocks toward a historic streak of weekly gains. Still, investors face the danger that their expectations will be upended by yet another change in direction from Trump.😲

Trump has no public events on his schedule for Friday. He’s shown a penchant for launching military strikes and other significant announcements after US markets close and on weekends.

This morning on Globull News, the claim is that Trump is ending the US blockade. But that was probably several hours old by the time it gets to BC morning news, so who knows?
Maybe he will decide to send the ships to blockade Antarctica?

Hope Trump sticks to his guns otherwise the whole thing was a waste. I have confidence, sort of, that he'll do the right thing. Fingers crossed!!

Three months into the U.S. and Israel’s four week war on Iran, the prospect of a peace deal remains precarious. On Friday, U.S. President Donald Trump said a deal is close, despite Iran accusing Washington of “betraying diplomacy” and making excessive demands.

Netanyahu claim Israel will control over 70 percent of Gaza draws Hamas backlash

Hamas said on Friday that PM Netanyahu's declaration that Israel would expand its area of control in Gaza "represents a dangerous escalation." Under the cease-fire agreement reached last October, Israel's military was supposed to remain in control of 53 percent of Gaza. However, Netanyahu said earlier Friday that Israel would initially expand that area by 70 percent, though he did not provide details or a timeline.

Israel has already expanded its area of control in Gaza beyond the 53 percent outlined behind the Yellow Line in the agreement, reaching roughly 64 percent through areas it has designated as restricted in maps shared with aid organizations. Israel and Hamas have repeatedly accused each other of violating the cease-fire, and IDF strikes have killed more than 900 Gazans since the truce took effect, while Palestinian attacks have killed four Israeli soldiers.

Meanwhile, in the West Bank, four people were wounded in an Israeli settler attack on a village south of Nablus. According to the Palestinian Red Crescent, one victim was shot in the leg, another suffered shrapnel wounds to the face, and two others were beaten. All four were hospitalized for further medical treatment.

"The settlers in the seven violent outposts that have arisen around the village of Dar Abu Faza'a Ka'abna in the past two years are doing all they can to cleanse the area of the last remaining village. Five schools that the village children had attended were shut down in the wake of the expulsion of the communities. The children are now scattered among the schools in nearby villages" – Gideon Levy

Hezbollah source says intensified fire intended as message to Israel and Beirut

After Israeli and Lebanese army officials met Friday at the Pentagon in Washington for the first session of a new U.S.-mediated military coordination mechanism between the two countries, Hezbollah launched a barrage of rockets into northern Israel overnight into Saturday. The repeated launches triggered sirens across the region throughout the night, keeping residents awake and close to shelters. One rocket struck near the center of Kiryat Shmona around 4:00 A.M. local time, damaging shops and businesses.

Hezbollah rocket fire and drone infiltrations continued into Saturday, setting off air raid sirens in Upper Galilee communities for the first time since the cease-fire took effect on April 14. Later Saturday afternoon, the IDF warned residents in northern Israel to expect the possibility of increased fire from Lebanon as Israeli military incursions into southern Lebanon expand.

A Lebanese source affiliated with Hezbollah told Haaretz that the increased fire is intended to "send a clear message" to both the Lebanese government and Israel that the deeper the IDF pushes into southern Lebanon and expands its operations, the more Hezbollah will broaden its attacks.

The escalation follows an intensified Israeli military offensive in Lebanon in recent days. On Friday, PM Netanyahu boasted of Israel's operations in Beirut while visiting troops near the Lebanese border, saying the IDF was "striking Hezbollah hard."

Meanwhile, a Lebanese official told Hezbollah-affiliated Al-Mayadeen that Israel refused to withdraw from Lebanon and insisted on the "dissolution of Hezbollah" during Friday's talks. According to the official, Israel repeatedly rejected Lebanon's demand for a full cease-fire.

Despite the escalation, a senior U.S. defense official described Friday's meetings as "productive." The official added Saturday that Washington expects Israeli and Lebanese military delegations to reconvene soon for additional security-track talks.

The developments come as a potential U.S.-Iran agreement aimed at ending the war is widely expected to include a more stable cease-fire in Lebanon as part of its terms. However, President Trump did not reach a decision on a cease-fire agreement following a two-hour meeting in the Situation Room, despite saying beforehand that he would make "a final decision," a senior administration official told The New York Times on Friday.

On Saturday, a senior Iranian official said that the U.S. was "betraying diplomacy" again by continuing its naval blockade and making excessive demands during negotiations.

Government secrecy on U.S.-Iran talks may affect Hezbollah campaign, IDF officers say

As the IDF announced Sunday that Israeli forces have retaken the strategic Beaufort Castle – a Crusader-era stronghold with a sprawling view of southern Lebanon and northern Israel that the IDF vacated in 2000 when it withdrew from Lebanon – senior officers are concerned that the government's lack of transparency regarding how U.S.-Iran talks may affect the campaign against Hezbollah could put soldiers' lives at risk.

Sources told Haaretz that the IDF's primary concern is a scenario in which the government decides to halt the war while troops are still operating deep inside Lebanon, which could force troops to withdraw under fire, turning any pullback into an operation as dangerous and complex as the advance itself.

Tensions between the senior IDF officials and the government intensified after Israeli forces crossed Lebanon's Litani River last weekend despite a recent decision to reduce deployment in northern Israel due to the mounting strain on reserve forces.

Sources in the IDF's Northern Command told Haaretz that Hezbollah is fully aware of the changes in Israel's deployment and is reassessing its capabilities along the border. One officer serving in southern Lebanon said that "when one division bears most of the operational responsibility, the meaning is obvious to the enemy as well."

The number of Israeli soldiers killed since Hezbollah entered the Iran war in early March rose to 25 on Saturday with the death of Ssgt. Michael Tyukin, 21, who was killed in a drone attack. Tyukin immigrated to Israel from Ukraine in 2020 with his mother and was her only son.

Persistent Hezbollah rocket and drone fire continued into Sunday, with one explosive drone wounding four people in the northern Israeli moshav of Beit Hillel. PM Netanyahu said he told commanders stationed in Lebanon that "it will take more time, but we will restore security to the residents of the north, just as we did for the residents of the south."

In Lebanon, Israeli strikes on Saturday killed 16 people and wounded 24, the country's Health Ministry said. Meanwhile, U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio is reportedly leading efforts to stabilize the Israel-Lebanon cease-fire and is expected to announce a new agreement following talks between the two sides that took place over the weekend.

"A set of three sirens that broke the night's silence in the northern Israeli city of Kiryat Shmona reignited anxiety and anger among the city's residents. Throughout the remaining hours of Saturday, a lively discussion continued in the WhatsApp groups of residents. 'We're still awake from yesterday,' said Shiran Ohayon, a Kiryat Shmona resident and one of the leaders of the residents' protest movement that emerged due to the crisis in the city caused by successive wars. 'People here are already desperate, and that's the most dangerous situation for our city. We feel abandoned'"– Adi Hashmonai

Seven wounded in settler attack as U.S. Democrats call for immediate action on West Bank Settler Terrorism.

Two days after leading House Democrats who recently visited Israel and the West Bank called for immediate U.S. action against rising settler violence, the Palestinian Red Crescent reported that seven Palestinians were wounded in an attack on the village of Madama Saturday morning.

The IDF said forces arrived following reports of clashes between Palestinian residents and settlers. According to the military, several Palestinians threw stones at the soldiers, who responded by firing into the air and at their lower bodies, in line with what the Israeli army calls an "arrest procedure."

Madama residents told Haaretz that a group of settlers from an outpost recently established near the village in Area B, which falls under Palestinian Authority control, attacked Palestinian shepherds with clubs, pepper spray and rocks, and attempted to steal their sheep. Security forces from the Israeli outpost were then joined by the IDF and other settlers, who prevented people from approaching the wounded and opened fire. Residents said the IDF also blocked an ambulance, leaving several of the wounded bleeding by the side of the road.

In the Ramallah area, footage that circulated in Palestinian media on Saturday showed settlers rolling a vehicle down a slope and fleeing the scene. Eyewitnesses said that Israeli security forces then arrived at the scene and detained the Palestinian car owner and passenger. According to Palestinian reports, settlers also damaged cars in Salfit.
