It'd be a side deal. Bibi is going to need another diversion.
Like a peace deal and cease-fire? That kind of diversion? Once the agreement is formally approved - as expected - by the Israeli cabinet, a ceasefire will take effect. Reports in Israeli media suggest this will happen immediately, although a spokesperson for the prime minister's office said it would begin within 24 hours of the cabinet's approval.

The Israeli military will withdraw to a line that will leave it in control of about 53% of the Strip, the spokesperson said. According to a map distributed by the White House last week, this is the first of three stages of Israeli withdrawal.

The Israeli military said on Thursday that preparations were under way to "transition to adjusted deployment lines soon".

After this, a 72-hour countdown will begin during which Hamas must release all 20 of the hostages believed to be alive. The return of the bodies of the 28 deceased hostages would follow, although it is not clear how long that could take.

Israel would then release about 250 Palestinian prisoners serving life sentences in Israeli jails and 1,700 detainees from Gaza (based upon the current exchange rate?), a Palestinian source told the BBC. Their identities are currently unclear, but a list submitted by Hamas before the agreement was reached included high-profile figures serving multiple life sentences for deadly attacks on Israelis.

One of the most high-profile prisoners, Marwan Barghouti, will not be released as part of the swap, according to the Israeli spokesperson.

Israel will also return the bodies of 15 Gazans for the remains of each Israeli hostage, according to Trump's plan.

Under Trump's deal, Hamas plans to release all 20 hostages in exchange for roughly 2,000 Palestinian prisoners.

Meanwhile, the Israeli military will begin a withdrawal from the majority of Gaza.

The news comes just two days after the second anniversary of October 7 - the attacks by terror group Hamas on Israel which sparked the current conflict.

Bibi will have to save the world from Iran and their conventional weapons again.
November 2, 2025
Benjamin Netanyahu's corruption trial in the Jerusalem District Court is scheduled to resume with intensified hearings starting November 2, 2025. This marks the beginning of a new phase where sessions will occur four days per week, with Netanyahu testifying three times weekly to accelerate the cross-examination process, which is expected to continue for several months. No hearings are listed between October 9 and November 1, 2025, based on recent court rulings from August and September 2025. This schedule follows delays due to national security matters, including the Iran-Israel conflict and Gaza operations, and aligns with the trial's progression since Netanyahu's testimony began in December 2024.

They cant hold Court in a bunker....

Well, let’s hope it’s a sign of good things to come.

The agreement is the “first phase” of an elaborate concordat that goes beyond merely ending the carnage that has taken the lives of tens of thousands of Gazans in a brutal war that was triggered by the barbaric invasion of Southern Israel Hamas and its affiliated terrorist groups carried out during the Simchat Torah holiday in 2023.

All that’s in motion at the moment is part of the third point of U.S. President Donald Trump’s “20-point peace plan” for Gaza, but it’s very much worth celebrating.
1760035594160.jpegA return of the hostages will be their own liberation and will help to heal the agony endured by their families. It will mean a dramatic and sudden decline in the extortionate leverage Hamas has been wielding for the past two years, and an immediate flood of humanitarian aid into the cratered exclave is just around the corner.

Trump’s plan has upset the vast “Free Palestine” constituency in the NATO capitals, which is now the last major redoubt of support for Hamas, Palestinian Islamic Jihad and the rest. The complaint is that Trump’s plan, like its antecedent in the New York Declaration of July 29, anticipates Hamas surrendering its arms and relinquishing any role in the political life of Gaza and a future Palestinian state.

Trump’s plan explicitly stipulates that Hamas and its affiliated factions must agree to forego any direct or indirect role in Gaza’s governance, and that all military and “offensive infrastructure” including tunnels and weapon production facilities be destroyed. Gaza would be fully demilitarized, weapons would be permanently decommissioned, and a “New Gaza,” policed by troops from an International Stabilisation Force, must be fully committed to peace with Israel.

This is a bridge too far for Code Pink, former British Labour leader Jeremy Corbyn, the Electronic Intifada organization, United Nations special rapporteur on Palestine Francesca Albanese, the virulently anti-Israel Democratic Party congresswoman Rashida Tlaib, the Vancouver-based, terrorist-listed Samidoun Network, the New York “anti-Zionist” organization Within Our Lifetime, the Progressive International organization and the Sumud Flotilla that recently staged an elaborate high seas mischief-making exercise masquerading as a humanitarian mission.

Read up on the Euston Manifesto which Glavin is into... for a pro-democracy group they're pretty far right.

I’m full-time plus on-call 24/7 with what I do already, and playing here is part of my stress relief so I don’t have the time for that, nor the text skills or interest level with my antiquated Google, etc…

How about yourself? Are you signed up yet? Get anything published? Could be a good retirement side gig and with a VPN nobody would know that you’re not in the US, etc…😉.

SHARM EL SHEIKH, Egypt—Israel’s government approved an agreement brokered by the Trump administration to free the remaining hostages held by Hamas and establish a cease-fire in Gaza, sealing a diplomatic breakthrough after months of failed talks.
1760100881484.jpeg
The hostage deal, which President Trump announced from the White House on Wednesday, promises to close a wound opened by the Oct. 7, 2023, Hamas-led attacks in southern Israel and give momentum to the effort to end a two-year war that has left tens of thousands of Gazans dead and the enclave in ruins.
The deal will bring the first significant pause in fighting since March, and the administration hopes it will be the first step toward a longer-term settlement that will involve talks over the disarmament of Hamas and the formation of an interim government to oversee Gaza.
The cease-fire went into effect with the vote by the Israeli government. U.S. Central Command will be leading an international stabilization force and set up a civil military coordination center that could include Egypt, Qatar, Turkey and the United Arab Emirates, a senior U.S. official said.

The troops will help monitor the implementation of the cease-fire and eventual transition to a civilian government, according to a U.S. official. They will also help facilitate the flow of humanitarian aid into Gaza.

One of the point's in Trump's 20-point Gaza plan included the US working with Arab and international partners to develop a temporary International Stabilization Force to immediately deploy in Gaza but this is yet to be agreed between the sides and would only happen if a hostage and prisoner exchange is completed.
Here are “some” of the details obtained by Reuters from the agreement as it was voted on by the Israeli government, and from Palestinian and Israeli sources:

CEASEFIRE AND WITHDRAWAL:

* The ceasefire begins once the agreement is approved by the Israeli government. This was announced in the early hours of Friday morning. The Israeli military later said the ceasefire was in effect as of noon.

* Within 24 hours, the Israeli military will withdraw to agreed-upon lines in order to minimise friction with Gaza's civilian population. The redeployment line pulls the Israeli forces back from some of Gaza's major urban areas but still leaves them in control of roughly half of the enclave's territory. The military on Friday announced that troops were "adjusting operational positions" within Gaza.

* The agreement says that within 72 hours of the military's redeployment, all 48 hostages are to be released from the Gaza Strip and handed over to Israeli security forces.

* The 48 hostages include 20 who are known to be alive. Hamas has indicated that recovering the bodies of some dead hostages may take longer, as not all burial sites are known. Gal Hirsch, Israel's hostage coordinator, said on Thursday that an international force would help find remains of any dead hostages that cannot be located by Hamas.

* After the hostages are released, Israel will release 250 Palestinians convicted or suspected of security crimes, as well as 1,700 adults and 22 minors detained in Gaza during the war, and the bodies of 360 fighters. Palestinians detained in Gaza will be released back to Gaza. Prisoners convicted of killing Israelis will be released to Gaza or deported abroad, and will be barred permanently from the West Bank and Israel.
* Humanitarian aid will be ramped up into Gaza, and permitted to travel freely between north and south Gaza on the two main roads. Two Israeli officials said 600 trucks would soon start entering Gaza daily.
* According to an Israeli security official the trucks will carry mostly food, medical equipment, shelter equipment, fuel and cooking gas. Equipment needed to fix damaged infrastructure such as water lines, sewage and bakeries will also be allowed in.

* Gaza residents will be allowed to leave Gaza to Egypt through the Rafah crossing in coordination with Egypt, subject to Israeli approval and under supervision of an EU delegation, according to the security official. Gaza residents will also be allowed back into the enclave through Rafah subject to Israeli approval and after a mechanism is agreed between Israel and Egypt.

Israeli troops on Friday morning began withdrawing from parts of the Gaza Strip as part of the cease-fire deal, Israeli and Arab officials said. Israel’s government approved the agreement overnight local time, which calls on Israeli forces to pull back to a line marked in yellow on a map.
(YouTube & Gaza ceasefire now in effect, 72-hour hostage release countdown begins)

Hamas said it would begin deploying internal security forces in the areas where the Israeli forces have withdrawn.
I’m still watching and waiting to hear the details on how and when (Phase 3 or 4?) points 13 & 14 of the peace plan will come into effect, or if that will be the breakdown of the entire thing?

13. Hamas and other factions agree not to have any role in the governance of Gaza, directly, indirectly, or in any form. All military, terror, and offensive infrastructure, including tunnels and weapon production facilities, will be destroyed and not rebuilt.

There will be a process of demilitarization of Gaza under the supervision of independent monitors, which will include placing weapons permanently beyond use through an agreed process of decommissioning, and supported by an internationally funded buy back and reintegration programme all verified by the independent monitors.

New Gaza will be fully committed to building a prosperous economy and to peaceful coexistence with their neighbours.

14. A guarantee will be provided by regional partners to ensure that Hamas, and the factions, comply with their obligations and that New Gaza poses no threat to its neighbours or its people.
