Human capital is the economic value of a person's skills, knowledge, and experience. It's an intangible asset that includes health, education, training, and other qualities. Human capital is believed to increase productivity and profitability.
What about the "Arts" increasing quality of life or in lieu of at least supporting another industrial complex same as junkies.

Fuck the US; at this point they've proven (their current Government anyway) that they can't be trusted, won't hold to their word and don't give a damn regardless. Dumping the US would be better on our end; hell, Trump's own stupidity has pushed us to do things lately we were (again, stupidly) not doing ourselves.

Fun fact, Tax, there's nothing wrong with a "socialist" Government in Canada. Even when under Conservative Governments, we've been "socialist". And most of us would prefer that to what PP and the US have.

Don't like it? Shift your ass to the US and see how you like it there.
ow about we just get the foreign funded anti jobs crowd out of Canada?

A top White House official has threatened to redraw the Canadian border amid Donald Trump’s ambition to turn the country in America’s “51st state”.

Peter Navarro, one of Donald Trump’s closest advisers, is pushing US negotiators to discuss reworking the border with their Canadian counterparts, The Telegraph can reveal.
View attachment 27748
“Navarro recommended revising the Canada-US border, which is just crazy and dangerous,” a source close to negotiations told The Telegraph.

Canada has now instructed its delegates to withdraw from negotiations with the US until Jameson Greer and Howard Lutnick, two incoming members of Mr Trump’s cabinet, are confirmed by the senate. Mr Greer and Mr Lutnick are viewed by Ottawa as being less extreme.

“The Canadians have told their people to hold off negotiating with the US Government until Jameson Greer and Howard Lutnick are confirmed by the Senate and in post,” the source said.

Proposals also put forward by Mr Navarro include expelling Canada from the Five Eyes intelligence-sharing network, the most important intelligence-sharing network in the world. He has since denied the claim.

“My view is that we should never have to comment on any story where it’s based on unnamed sources,” he told reporters on Tuesday.

“We would never, ever jeopardize our national security, ever, with allies like Canada, ever.”

Mr Navarro, whose close relationship with Mr Trump has afforded him ease of access to the Oval Office, is “ruling the roost”, insiders say, with some staffers left feeling unable to challenge him.

“Peter Navarro is in post, and he is taking advantage of being there by himself with no one else in post to challenge his extreme positions. This will change as soon as the many other trade and economic positions are filled,” the source added.

“By default of no competition, he is temporarily ruling the roost.” the source added.

Mr Trump has repeatedly said Canada should become the 51st US state. Justin Trudeau, nicknamed Governor Trudeau by Mr Trump, has said his country would never join America.

Mr Trump is now seeking control of the Keystone XL Pipeline, the $9bn pipeline that would bring 830,000 barrels per day of oil from Canada’s Western tar sands to US refiners.

First proposed in 2008, the pipeline was pulled after former president Joe Biden revoked a key permit needed for a US stretch of the project.

Mr Trudeau, who has previously promoted the oil conduit between his country and the US, said he had given up on the project.

But the president wants to revive the project, promising “easy approvals” to ensure oil would flow to the US.

“The company building the Keystone XL Pipeline that was viciously jettisoned by the incompetent Biden Administration should come back to America, and get it built - NOW!” Mr Trump said in a post on his social media network. What a fucking putz…
“If not them, perhaps another Pipeline Company,” Mr Trump added. “We want the Keystone XL Pipeline built!”
Oil is the most valuable export of Canada, which is the world's fourth-largest oil exporter, pumping 4 million barrels per day (bpd) over the border to U.S. refiners. That is about 90% of Canadian oil exports already…at a steep discount to America, with even larger discounts for natural gas to America from Canada.
(YouTube & “KEYSTONE XL CONUNDRUM: Trumps tariffs make no sense when building pipeline”)

A Canadian company also lost billions when former U.S. President Joe Biden revoked permits for the Keystone XL pipeline project to the U.S. in 2021, so they’ll just jump for Trump I’m sure.
So, Pt. Roberts will become part of Canada?

That's the funny part. Canadian Tories pissing and moaning about "soshulism."

Pay cash for your medical bills, then get back to me.
We do. Every month, whether we use them or not. We have no choice. Perhaps more important,we don’t get to decide on who provides that medical care or the timeframe new get it in. The BC government is so fucked up they are sending cancer patients to private clinics in Washington for treatment. People are literally dying on wait lists. That is the kind of medical care socialism provides. The only good thing you can say about is that everyone except the rich suffer the same. The rich just go elsewhere.

Come on that universal heath care provides many bureaucrats with a good living . Where else could they find such renumeration and working conditions. You can’t expect them to provide timely health care at the same time .

"Remuneration." Big word for "pay."

"Renumeration" is the act of changing the system of numbering things, or changing the numbers on items in that system.

Pay infers work. Hence renumeration.

Implies. Infers is what the hearer or reader does. Implying is what the speaker or writer or actor does.

Examples: You imply that I don't understand. I infer from what you say that you don't think I understand.

We don't?

Pretty sure that people do get a choice...

or the timeframe new get it in.

Depends on the Triage.

The BC government is so fucked up they are sending cancer patients to private clinics in Washington for treatment.

Are they still doing that? I know articles I saw stated it was in 2023 but there's nothing more recent about it. Said the wait lists for radiation are that long.

And while I agree that we SHOULDN'T be sending people to the US for care, it also says a lot that if there are that many that need radiation, I'd wonder if there's something going on to cause that many people needing the treatment. Unless it's a regional thing where people end up going to just one place for care.

People are literally dying on wait lists. That is the kind of medical care socialism provides.

Actually that's not true.

That's the kind of medical care that MISMANAGEMENT of the system provides.

And thinking that Health Care can be run like a business and needing to cut spending all over the place.

And not paying workers.

And too much work on too little people.

And... and... so much more.

The only good thing you can say about is that everyone except the rich suffer the same. The rich just go elsewhere.

Yeah, they do, because they're part of the problem that health care lacks funding. If we taxed the "rich" like they should be, then maybe the $$ would be there.

No if we cut the amount of bureaucrats we would have the money . Canada’s health care system requires a complete overhaul . It does not serve the population .

The funny thing is though, the two best health care systems in the world not only have a public/private system that works in conjunction with each other, they will even send you out of country for, say surgery if the wait list is too long or it can be done cheaper elsewhere in Europe. Beyond the sending you out of country, Canada's health care system, or at least Ontario's, was modeled after those two systems.

Okay. I'm getting back to you. What do you want? Oh, maybe I wasn't on this forum back then but yeah, under a fucking LIBERAL govt we got a hospital bill for the privilege of our son getting run down by a hit and run driver. Seems OHIP has a fun little loophole where if a vehicle is involved then said vehicle owner's insurance covers the bill. If they have no insurance or do a hit and run and aren't caught, well, YOU get the bill.

You didn't have uninsured motorists' coverage? That's hardly the province's fault.
