So I watched the SK/BC game last night. I came away with the following:
  • Is SK that good or is BC that bad?
  • I can see why Rourke did not make it in the NFL. He is not actually making it in the CFL either.
  • BC coach has created a QB mess. Waiting to replace Rourke and then putting in QB#3 was stupid. The TSN guys were saying he views himself having 2 starters and wants to protect them but if that is the case, it is quite stupid.
  • I expect when the season is done, they will have a new coach.
  • BC, if they want to play for cup on home turf, needs to beast both SK and Winnipeg on the road (order undetermined) if they want to do that.
  • Although Winnipeg controls it's own destiny, their route to #1 seed in west is less certain. Montreal is a tough opponent particularly on the road. Only thing in Winnipeg's favour is that Montreal's fate is sealed. Calgary at home for SK is easier so Winnipeg will likely have to win.
Winnipeg has perfected making it to Grey Cup and losing.

From my experience on CFL forums, the Winnipeg Blue Bombers fans are the whiniest in the league. Every hit on their QB is dirty and the defender should be suspended. But if their guy does a hit and gets penalized it is a miscarriage of justice.
Theoretically Jake Thomas should face a permanent suspension for the hit on Kelly. It was worse than the Garrett Marino shoulder bump that got him kicked out.

Agree with the opinion on BC. Too much fiddling.

Wally Buono will soon be able to say I told you so.

Vernon Adams Jr is showing some team leadership and taking first team reps for the game this week against Montreal. Means nothing in the standings but plenty on the field. Lions won last time they met. Good sized crowd expected as well with sections of the upper deck being opened. Those fans will be the last people they will want to disappoint. Late in the season to start getting their shit together but it is the CFL. I'm hoping for a good game.

Argos standing tall today.
For 3 quarters.

I was at the game. Ottawa had no answer to Toronto on Offence or Defence. The only part of their game that was working was kickoff returns. The 4th quarter the Argos went into prevent defence -- which prevents nothing. And the result was expected. TD after TD after TD. Also Toronto needs to work on its hands team on short kickoffs. They really sucked at that.

BC has 3rd in the West locked up. It could end with either Riders on top or Winnipeg. All three have the potential to be home team in BC Place come Grey Cup in November. Odds wise MTL should beat the Bombers and SK over Stamps but we're talking the Riders which will mean a 30-29 last second victory for CFY with SK blowing a field goal.

You assume Montreal will be playing to win.

No fine for Jake Thomas confirms what we have known all along that Winnipeg has too much influence to do with officiating. Their team is not that good. Sad that they stoop to such lows for the sake of their egos.

Personally think Montreal sticks it to them this week. Question is can the Riders beat the Stamps to gain home field and the bye. Also think BC can win the semi no matter who they play.

Youre overlooking a major factor, weather. Its all outdoors until Grey Cup. Forecast for Regina is 17° for Sunday.

Are they still making snow at the ski hill they built south of Saskatoon? They could move both snow makers a few blocks away from Mosaic and cause havoc for the opposing team.

17 this time of year is about as good as it gets. Nice in NW Ontario as well. Yesterday might have been the nicest day ever. We're getting rain today which is also good.

Montreal listed as +5.5 underdog at home to Winnipeg paying 2.75 to win is a good bet imo. Hamilton getting points in Ottawa also does not seem right.

So has BC officially abandoned the "Rourke as a starter" concept? I don't see BC going anywhere if they haven't.
Could be quite a QB carousel this off season.

Lots depends on if the Riders re-sign Trevor Harris. Vernon Adams would be a good alternative and is under contract at an attractive rate if they make a trade. I like that one.

MBT is unlikely to be back in Edmonton and good luck to them with Tre Ford. It will be an interesting off season there.

Also not sure it is a love story in Hamilton with all that has gone on with Milanovich. I'm still waiting for someone to ask about starting Matthew Shiltz in last years playoff game. I'd like to see Bo back in Calgary.

Someone is going to draft Kurtis Rourke. Maybe BC. Davis Alexander is another free agent and will draw interest. Jake Maier is not actually that bad and also headed to free agency.

Chad Kelly has two more years left on his deal. Zach Collaros has one.

And that's only the QBs.
