The new boss King Charles III has snubbed Prince Harry and Meghan by not inviting them to the one year memorial of the death of Queen Elizabeth II.

Britain's longest-reigning monarch died on 8th September 2022 with her eldest child Charles finally becoming King.

The memorial will take place at Balmoral in Scotland, where Elizabeth II died.

It all seems so petty though.

Does it? Harry and his wife have made some serious allegations against his own family, all of which seem to be bullshit. Remember when they accused a member of the Royal Family - I think it was Princess Anne - of racism against their son Archie? Turns out it was nothing of the sort. The Sussexes said they wanted to leave the Royal Family and avoid the limelight, yet they are hugging the limelight at every opportunity. It's not petty. It's pretty serious stuff.

Compare Prince Harry's behaviour to that of Prince William, as our next monarch pledged allegiance to his father during the King's Coronation. The look on the King's face after the Prince of Wales kissed him on the cheek. It was a touching moment between father and son...

Harry & Megan are entitled children, out with a megaphone yelling “Don’t look at us!” & it’s both sad and whatever….& the King had 70+ years to get ready for work & isn’t he suppose to be the adult in the room as well as the patriarch of the family now? The glue, so to speak, for the Commonwealth? If you can’t be the big dog and the bigger man for your own blood, it’s a tough sell that he can still play the same roll for nations….but that’s just me.

Meh! Royalty! I find it hard to care. How does one get to be royalty anyway? Far as I can tell, all it means is that you’re descended from some of the more successful thugs and thieves and warlords of a less civilized age.

We're all descended from thugs and thieves. Especially Australians.

Windsors, Sussexes, maybe some of the lesser inbred Hapsburgs if any of those are still around?
Yeah the Hapsburg line still exists, though I believe the direct male line went extinct in the 18th century, current head of the family styles himself Archduke of Hapsburg-Este, married into the Belgian royal family. If memory serves, Elizabeth II and thus of course Charles III are related to them through the daughters of the last Empress of Austria. I suppose I could look it up if I really cared much…

Maybe with some fresh blood, they can breed out the jaw and lip thing.
