Big Truss!

I agree.

Liz Truss is odds on to become Britain's third female Prime Minister.

It's her and Rishi Sunak in the Final, and I can't see Sunak winning.

Truss is currently the Foreign Secretary. She will be the new PM.

She was also the Trade Secretary - a post recently re-established in Britain since just before it left the EU and became independent and no longer has Brussels making its trade arrangements - between 2019 and 2021 and sorted out trade deals with many nations.

Personally, I would have liked to have seen arch-Brexiteer anti-woke Badenoch win, but it seems she was far too right wing for the modern touchy-feely Tories.

Oh dear.

If I continue to favor (not support, I'm not eligible to support) Big Truss and Pierre-Pol, they might take away the Communist Party card that some of our dimmer lights seem to think I have.

Maybe you will go the whole hog and support Trump in 2024.

Come on over to the right.

Don't bet a bent penny against all the wealth in the world on that.

You might need a bent penny someday.

Two years is a long time in politics.

In two years, Truss may lose the General Election and we'll have Labour's Starmer as PM and the socialists will be flying the Red Flag again, so who knows what you'll think of Trump by then? Anything could happen.

I doubt I'd notice a difference. You don't seem to grasp that, from an American point of view, Britain and Canada have two main parties. . . Left and Further Left.

Ah, we should give her a break. She may not win any beauty contests, but she raised a good kid.

Not too sure about that. Truss is the woman who, as Foreign Secretary, had a go at Russia for ruling Russian territory.

In the closed-door meeting, Lavrov (Truss's Russian counterpart) had asked Truss whether the U.K. accepted that two Russian regions — Voronezh and Rostov — belonged to Russia and that Russia had the right to move troops and equipment to the areas.

According to Russia’s Kommersant business daily, Truss replied that “the U.K. will never recognize Russian sovereignty over these regions.”

Commentators said the British politician likely thought Lavrov was referring to Donetsk and Luhansk — the two breakaway regions of eastern Ukraine controlled by pro-Russian separatists. Truss was quickly corrected by the British Ambassador in the meeting.
