The Trudope strikes again.

How big an idiot is the Turd? There's nothing stopping Russia from cutting energy imports to Europe even after the turbines have been received. Of course we all know that Russia lives up to the terms of all of the treaties and agreements it's signed, don't we. NOT

I don't imagine it was an easy choice since it's Germany that's asking for them to be returned.

If Canada returns them, they get pissed off at by Ukraine.

If they didn't return it, Germany would be pissed off.

We were pretty much screwed.

They aren’t German property. Maybe Germans should have thought things through before relying on energy from a Nation that until 30 years occupied 2/3 of their Nation and still does hold a chunk to this day.

No. We had a choice to hold true to the sanctions and we also shit the bed on energy exports.

Which then begs the question, why did Siemens send a Russian gas turbine to Montreal for repairs? And it appears we will be repairing or servicing another 5 turbines for the Nord Stream over the next two years.

"The turbine was sent out for repairs to a Siemens Energy facility in Montreal — the only place where the work could be done — and is now stranded here."

There's your answer.

From the as usual full of shit Red Star.

From Siemens web site itself: "With major repair facilities strategically located in Europe, Canada, the USA, Saudi Arabia, South America and Asia our highly skilled service specialists are able to provide support wherever you need it."

So according to Siemens they have a number of facilities around the world "where the work could be done".

So the Star was good enough to report on the issue and for the OP to use it.

But when it answers your question, it's 'full of shit'.

Consistent, you are not.

It says "provide support", not "repair shit you need". Like with a lot of companies, actual repair of their products might only happen in one or two places. In this case, Montreal.

Or is it admitting that the rock and hard place Canada was put under pushed our hand to consider needs of people in an innocent country first, despite Russia and their bullshit?

And of course the Star is the only one that did report on the story, right?

It didn't answer my question.

Says the oh so consistent Serryah after agreeing that "woman" is defined as the one who gets pregnant and then tries to insist that men can get pregnant too.
Talk about a lack of consistency.

What part of "major repair facilities strategically located in Europe, Canada, the USA, Saudi Arabia, South America and Asia" are you havin' fucking trouble comprehending.
"Oh sorry guys, we don't do repairs at our European, American, Saudi Arabian, South American or Asian major repair facilities, we just provide support. Only Montreal does actual repairs".

Moron.
Or is it admitting that the rock and hard place Canada was put under pushed our hand to consider needs of people in an innocent country first, despite Russia and their bullshit?
In case you weren't paying attention, and you rarely do unless it's something that fucking triggers you, I'm not putting this on Trudeau or the govt. In fact I'm pretty sure I stated that it was probably a tough decision to make; continue to enforce the Russian sanctions or fuck Germany over (and a good part of Europe too).

I wouldn't envy anyone who had to make that decision.

No, it's not. But it is the one the Op used and so was the source of the answer.

It didn't answer my question.

Except it actually did.

Talk about a lack of consistency.

Not my fault you missed the part where I admitted to what I should have said.

But I won't bring other thread stuff that has nothing to do with this issue into the convo. Want to rant on the GLBTQ+ issues, there's a thread already for it :)

Major facilities, provide support, doesn't mean ALL facilities can take the parts that were sent to Montreal and repair them. I mean, even small businesses sometimes have to send parts away even if they have 'facilities to provide support' in a more local area. Unless you are somehow lucky enough to not encounter that issue and if so, good on you. It's not like that everywhere.

Moron.

In case you weren't paying attention,

Well...

and you rarely do unless it's something that fucking triggers you,

I been trying to be less triggered lately while you, well...

Here, think you're low.

Great! It's what I said too! We agree on something, HUZZAH!

Forgive me for still thinking you were bitching about him as per usual even if you can agree it's a rock/hard place decision.

I wouldn't envy anyone who had to make that decision.

Neither would I. Which is why as effing stupid Trudeau is (among other things) in this I think he did make the 'right' decision.

Personally I read about it in the National Post. But the Toronto Star is and has for some time been a Liberal rag. It's even more slanted than the CBC which is also pretty slanted. And yes, every paper has a bias. These 2 are just more than most.

I think the point is that if the TorStar reporter heard the Liberal government say "it's the only repair facility" he/she would take it at face value and do no further investigation as to its validity. Clearly it was not but the one they chose to use.

Rules for thee and not for me. Ukraine is pretty pissed about it.

Phuk Ukraine. The government is nothing more than a corrupt globalist country that deserves to disappear from view. I hope Russia takes all of Ukraine. Make the world a better place to live. Save the Ukranian people from destruction of their country by their own destructive corrupt government. Works for me.

Well I've never really heard of it before now so *shrug*. TBH I thought it was likely a right winger rag considering the OP used it as the source for this post.

In Toronto, the Sun has a right lean to it. Star is far left. Actually not left .. Liberal (capital L).

Intellectual property of Siemens and there are only a handful equipped to do the maintenance.

They do very precise shit. An imbalance of a 100 000th of a gram could turn one of those puppies into a bomb and cost 100s of billions downstream.

Do I agree with what happened? Fuck no.
