The main or leading heresy was in how Gnostics saw an evil Yahweh in the scriptures, while what became the orthodoxy saw a good Yahweh.

Morally speaking, Gnostic were/are way ahead of those who venerated a genocidal, homophobic and misogynous Yahweh/Jesus combo.

If what he says Gnostics did sexually, they would not have lasted like the Cathars did.

The Gnostic Jesus say heaven in the here and now.
