They've pretty much licked the pot clean on the far right, even if they could win back those that O'Toole's appeals to centrists alienated there wouldn't be enough of them to win a federal campaign. O'Toole's problem was a lack of stick-with-it, he would back-peddle on his moves toward centre when the farther right within the party kicked up a stink.
