So. . . where does it end up?
I figure there's three possibilities.
Most likely. . . pandemic ends, everybody gets back to pre-pandemic status, whole thing becomes a minor footnote in history, like the Vietnam War protests down here.
Less likely but pretty good chance. . . this accelerates in Canadian "culture" the role of performative outrage, as fat, dumb, lazy people decide that it's easier to take to the streets than to actually think their way through the process of devising, defending, and communicating a coherent position or grievance. Mass protests become less and less effective as it becomes normalized. Like what happened here. The March on Washington in 1963 was a cultural earthquake. Now we have several a year, and nobody gives a shit, except to complain about the traffic hassles.
Not a chance in hell but thought I'd mention it to round out the list. . . this provokes actual change in Canadian society. Vanishingly unlikely because there is no goal here.
