Looks like some 'real nasties' infiltrated at least one protest

4 Alberta border protesters charged with conspiring to murder RCMP officers

Young roommates among 9 others charged in blockade at Coutts, Alta., judge hears

Seven of the protesters arrested in connection with a blockade at the Coutts, Alta., border crossing have been granted bail but those accused of conspiration to murder RCMP officers remain behind bars.

The first 11 protesters to be arrested ahead of two others who were taken into custody later on Monday made their first court appearance Tuesday afternoon on charges that include conspiracy to murder, mischief and possession of a weapon.

The on-and-off blockade of the normally busy border crossing by people opposed to COVID-19 health restrictions has lasted more than two weeks.

The arrests followed an RCMP raid of trailers in the early morning hours on Monday when officers seized guns, body armour, a large quantity of ammunition and high-capacity firearm magazines.

Conspiracy to murder police officers
Most of the accused face charges of mischief to property over $5,000 and possession of a weapon.

Four also face an additional charge of conspiracy to murder with one man also charged with uttering threats.

The premier says the situation at the Coutts' border crossing will no longer be tolerated, and the provincial government now has heavy equipment in place to assist police in clearing Highway 4 of vehicles. 2:13
In a news conference late Tuesday afternoon, RCMP confirmed the conspiracy charge related to allegations the four were planning to kill officers.

"I can tell you that it was toward RCMP members," said RCMP Chief Supt. Trevor Daroux.

"We worked very closely with our Crown in ensuring we had the evidence going forward to lay the charge and put it before the courts."

Roommate co-workers charged
Prosecutor Steven Johnston and defence lawyer Yoav Niv have made arrangements for most of the accused to be released on bail. Those facing conspiracy to murder charges must have a bail hearing before a superior court judge at a later date.

Despite court docs showing they are from Magrath and Raymond, Alta., it came to light that the four youngest people charged are co-workers in Calgary with three of the friends living in the city as roommates.

Traffic moving at Alberta border crossing as blockade dismantled, RCMP says

Since the early morning hours on Monday, at least 13 people were arrested in relation to a protest against pandemic restrictions near the main U.S. border crossing in southern Alberta.

Was this list publicly released & the CBC got a copy & ran with it (?) or was this list released only to the CBC and they published it making it public knowledge?

These are two very different things above and I don’t know the answer so that’s why I’m asking the question.
I don’t know but CBC contacting names on that list asking why they donated is against privacy laws and sure stinks of big brother .

It's hard to make heads or tails out of what is truly going on at events like these.

The right wing media is slanted in it's presentation, while the left wing media is biased by what it does not present.

So maybe we really are getting fake news like Trump said...just not the exact type of fake news he was alluding to.

It's all about fairness and balance in my books.

I don't care if someone is contradictory here and there. I can change my scope and opinion on a dime, and quite often do.

There's reasonable posters on this forum, and there's some who will just never change...bulletproof in their beliefs.

But I'm a big fan of Art. When I went psychotic and felt millions of people wanted me dead, I kept reminding myself to 'sift the hate, and admire the creativity'. My humour test is usually...is the joke funnier than it is mean? If so, I'll go ahead and post it. I'm not always correct, but that's where I start the process.

Hate-filled rants can be funny and entertaining, just as a thoughtful/ poignant post can stir an emotion within you. To me, being able to grasp both sides of an issue doesn't make you wishy-washy or a fence-sitter. It just means you are open minded.

I believe polarization occurs when subtlety, nuance, patience, critical analysis falls by the wayside...which it has.

Okay, I keep waking up in the middle of the night rambling on and posting about different things...these stream of consciousness scribbles.

Sheesh! I need a better sleep schedule.

The poster on this forum named taxme said something like I am so retarded and dumb that my opinions send him into fits of laughter.

But I didn't take offense, because I find him to be so extreme as to be comical. He gives me the giggles. He suggested Trudeau should be charged with crimes against humanity.

Oi Vay!

Saw on breakfast television in Toronto where a staffer for Ontarios Solicitor General is out of a job for contributing to the protest. So much for privacy in this country.

To be fair, Hitler didn't announce his movements or whereabouts either.

So we're all Hitler 😜

There were 4000 trucks in Ottawa and now there's only a few hundred.

There's no problem with them protesting but blockading streets and excessive noise is causing harm to residents and financial harm to the country.
