Not looking for an argument nor trying to find out the real problem (although I do have an opinion on what the real problem is :) ).
Just pointing out the over use of "violating my Charter Rghts" statements being bullshit unless there is a specific rights that is being violated. When questioned what rights, there is never an answer, just crickets or deflection.
OK, so you're looking to feel superior and make sure everybody knows you feel superior.

Have fun with that. Easier'n working the problem, that's fer damn sure.

Hell no. I am far below most people.
I do wish that legitimate questions be answered. I like dealing with real questions and real answers. I learn from real answers. I have learned what BS smells like.
It's like a child asking why they cannot do something and the parent says because. Because is not an answer, it is an excuse for not being able to explain.
"Violates my rights." What rights? "My rights" Please explain. ........ Crickets.

There's also a lot of "True Dope shoulda," but it is a delicate balance, what the PM should intervene in, and what the PM should leave to lower-level and local authority. I don't recollect Trump, nor the Attorney General, nor any other Federal official (nor any state official) offering to meet with BLM.

And I'm forced to point out that if any Tory or NDP premier or PM met with, or offered to meet with, the truckers, I musta missed it.

F🇨🇦CK TRUDEAU

Why won't he meet with us?

I do, too, and I'm a foreigner with very, very little business speaking on the subject. But a fact's a fact: y'all got a weak PM. Just like we had with Carter. Fine, arguably noble man. Not a great president.
I guess you didn't get the memo. Old Jimmy has been knocked out of that top spot (bottom actually).......and I know you will say Trump......lol

Anybody care to take it on?

My point of view is limited and probably misses many aspects of the situation. I ain't a trucker, and I ain't Canadian.

But seems pretty clear to me there's a mix of issues here.

First is the vax itself. Some folk genuinely believe, rightly or wrongly, that the vax is useless and possibly dangerous. And they believe there's a right of personal autonomy contained in or implied by the Charter or the common law. And they believe that the vax mandate punishes a choice that's theirs to make.

Second is a more nebulous notion that the government should not be mandating things unless there's a clear, indisputable connection between what they're proposing to mandate and what the problem is. The way our courts put it is "a compelling government interest and narrowly tailored to serve that interest with a minimum intrusion on the rights of the people."

There may be other things, but the third thing I'm thinking of is a widespread dissatisfaction with "the way things are going." I know that's not very helpful, but it's important. Revolutions are caused by an un-analyzed dissatisfaction with "the way things are going." If you're in power and sit there and insist that you will only listen to problems that are clearly stated on a nice little list, you have no-one but yourself to blame when they storm the Bastille or fire on the redcoats.

We're Canadian and just as confused as you are! lol!
I ain't confused. I'm acknowledging my limitations in background and presence in analyzing the question.

Sorry, I'm in a serious mood. I'll get back to sarcastic sniping in a bit, I'm sure.

Hmmmm.
I hear what you are saying but, I asked what rights are being violated.
I also have opinions on the present situation, or what it became. I was with it at the onset. I am now done with it and losing respect of what's left.

I don't think the majority of these protesters are terrorists...more like misguided maroons.

If it comes to tear gas and tazer guns to disperse them from the bridges, the imagery won't play very well in the media I guarantee you that.
I don't think the majority of protesters are even protesters. I think, in Ottawa anyway, many are just bored people looking for something to do in the evenings. :)

My first and second points answered that.

I'm not sure you really are hearing what I'm saying.

To be honest, you sound a little like a bible-thumper howling "There ain't a word in the Constitution about nekkid pictures!"

No, I disagree. I reread your post and you did not answer what rights are being violated. You gave opinions on what you thought the protests were about.
We are (or I am) talking about the Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms that people keep say are being violated and I keep asking which ones. I also say if they were violations, then there would be court actions and, there are none.
No "bible thumping", just asking specific questions to as specific claim to which there should be very specific answers if there actually is a violation.

There's some truth to that.

Ottawa is a sleepy government town. When Ottawa got an NHL hockey team, fans at the games were wondering why they didn't get an hour lunch in between the two 15 minute breaks.

OK, I did my best based on what I warned you up front was limited information and viewpoint.

You win. Yay, you.
