I respect your opinions and your posts as being insightful and factual so, tell me exactly what "non-existent" laws are being quoited?
No idea. Just that seems to be cop behavior a lot.

I've said consistently the protesters should be treated according to how they act. If they're not breaking any laws, leave 'em alone. If they are, ticket 'em, arrest 'em, do what's needed. But do it for what they're doing, not for being protesters.

Long as that's what's going on, I'm OK with it.

OK, here's my problem. . .

In a tweet Sunday, Trudeau said that Canada will always support the right to protest, but that “they don’t have the right to blockade our economy, or our democracy, or our fellow citizens’ daily lives. It has to stop.”
Sorry, True Dope. People have been "blockading our economy" ever since the people of Achill Island in Ireland refused to work for or buy and sell with one particularly vicious piece of scum named Charles Cunningham Boycott.

And. . . "blockading your democracy?" What, have some elections been cancelled? Sorry, snowflake, calling you an asshole ain't "blockading democracy."

And "fellow citizens' daily lives" is just plain ol' American. . . um. . . Canadian bullshit.

That is exactly what they are doing.
They have passed out hundreds of tickets, arrested a few and are looking for others.
The province just yesterday allowed the fines to be increased, in some cases ten fold. They are also now going to take away commercial licences from the protesting truckers. They have also been given the authority to impound the vehicles even though no tow truck operators will tow them at present.
They are being fined because the laws and bylaws are being broke. Noise, harassment, threaeneing people and shops, traffic disruption, blocking traffic, unlawfully setting up cooking facilities, carrying unauthorized fuels and propane in the city, improper use of federal parks, and many other things. Just small laws but laws nonetheless.

OK. Now if True Dope'd shut his damn mouth, maybe there'd be less uninvolved folk like me, who don't even think much of the truckers, feeling sympathy with 'em. Does that idiot WANT a rebellion?

After the attacks on Sep. 11, 2001, President Bush was careful to say that neither Muslims nor Islam was our enemy. Terrorists were.

When somebody can take lessons in leadership from Dubya, he really, REALLY needs those lessons!

And having your police chief come out and make threats ain't a real bright idea either.

I see some people are surprised by my reaction.

Guess what? American cops are really, really good at turning protests into riots so they can break heads. And breaking heads ain't a real good look anyplace except down to the cop bar.

“We are turning up the heat every way we possibly can,” Sloly said Monday. He also said that he needed far more resources to bring the “unlawful” blockade to an end and that officers are working with no days off.
I'd be a lot happier if he said "every LEGAL way we possibly can." I won't comment on the money grab. Ain't never been a boss cop in history who didn't need more money "to keep people safe."

This quote and the one above, by the way, is from the Washington Post, not exactly a right-wing newspaper.

No, it's when you said, "When somebody can take lessons in leadership from Dubya, he really, REALLY needs those lessons!" that's when it really drove home just how piss poorly Team Groper is handling all of this.
Credit to Dubya, he was pretty damn good in the aftermath of 9/11. Things went south after that, but remember how the whole world sympathized with and admired the U.S. for a spell there?

Other than the opinion of Jim Holt, where in the video or in the press releases does it say Trudeau government threatens to criminally target Americans? This is a conservative publication chunk of BS.
Canada let alone Trudeau cannot "target" Americans in any way.
Trudeau is an ass and he should tell his people to shut the hell up unless there is something to say that will end this crap.
Just judging headlines again eh?

Reading from a prepared statement, Justin Trudeau’s Public Safety Minister Marco Mendicino stated the Canadian government intends to target any American who may have donated to the Freedom Convoy protest effort. Apparently, the Canadian government wants to scare Americans away from donating to support the Freedom Protest in Ottawa. [Full Presser Video Here]

Resources meant staff, people and necessary infrastructure as opposed to money.
For sure Sloly does not communicate well. He is playing politics as much as Mayor Watson and trudeau.

Fair point. Some speechwriters' heads shoulda rolled for that particular piece of tone-deafness.

That and the blatant lie of "we don't want the smoking gun to be a mushroom cloud" and conflating chemical weapons that we sold to Iraq with nukes.

My Politics-to-English dictionary translates "resources" to "money."

Like I said, ain't real concerned about that. The only thing that wouldn't make a boss cop cry for more money is. . . OK, there's nothing that wouldn't make a boss cop cry for more money.
