I am.

Clinton's continual denial turned into "okay well maybe I lied" and he got impeached for it.

But I also remember the automatic "He did it! He's lying!" from the right though it was just talk/speculation at the time.

It's pretty much a repeat with Gaetz, only the right is in denial.

And if Clinton can be impeached for lying about a blow job in office, considering the stuff coming out about Gaetz... why is he getting super special backing?
Clinton did have a pattern that showed a higher probability that he was lying

He never got impeached for the BJ, he got impeached for lying under oath, and if Gaetz did the same I would expect he should be removed from office as well.

He should be; not the point of my question.

And he got impeached for lying about the BJ.

LOL

And Gaetz doesn't?!

Gaetz is caught up in this investigation over his friend because there is proof he did as is claimed; that he's paid women for sex and he's lied about it. Now, as to the minor and sex trafficking of her, that's still not out there yet for certain or not that he did it.

But even his 'friend's' lawyer says he's in trouble and if the guy who was the initial go-between for the women he did this to flips on him, I look forward to hearing just what kind of disgusting asshole Gaetz is.

You said the proof yourself. He sent money to his buddy. Now he can *say* it wasn't for sex, sure, but why should anyone believe him? I point out again to Clinton; he lied to cover up the BJ he got but the right were saying he was guilty before the proof came out, so...

Personally I despise Clinton and he didn't get enough when everything happened.

Gaetz is a spoiled rich brat whose daddy covered for him too much and now this is something daddy can't fix. But it's still up in the air whether he'll get a slap on the wrist or get punishment he deserves.

Like you said how does that prove that he was involved in sex trafficking and sex with a minor? So no proof then?

Due Process, Adult Sexual Morality and the Case of Rep. Matt Gaetz

The Florida Congressman has not been charged with any crimes. But the reaction to this case raises important questions of political, legal and cultural judgments.

That Rep. Matt Gaetz (R-FL) is a pedophile, a sex trafficker, and an abuser of women who forces them to prostitute themselves and use drugs with him is a widespread assumption in many media and political circles. That is true despite the rather significant fact that not only has he never been charged with (let alone convicted of) such crimes, but also no evidence has been publicly presented that any of it is true. He has also vehemently denied all of it. All or some of these accusations very well may be true and, one day — perhaps imminently — there will be ample publicly available evidence demonstrating this.

But that day has not yet arrived. As of now, we know very little beyond what The New York Times initially reported about all of this on March 30: that “people close to the investigation” told the paper that “a Justice Department investigation into Representative Matt Gaetz and an indicted Florida politician is focusing on their involvement with multiple women who were recruited online for sex and received cash payments.” The article also said the DOJ “inquiry is also examining whether Mr. Gaetz had sex with a 17-year-old girl and whether she received anything of material value.” Both the NYT and, later, The Daily Beast, indicated the existence of financial transactions involving payments by Gaetz to his associate Joel Greenberg, currently charged with multiple felonies. The New York Times article made clear: “No charges have been brought against Mr. Gaetz, and the extent of his criminal exposure is unclear.” That is still true.

But no matter. One is hard-pressed to find people willing to urge that his guilt not be assumed before evidence of it is presented (amazingly, just six months ago, many of the same people now treating these accusations as proven fact had no trouble casually asserting or strongly implying that Gaetz was having sex with a 19-year-old male whom he said he had been parentally raising for years, all without the slightest regard for the impact of such innuendo on that other person). So reckless is the discourse around this case that it is now frequently asserted in major outlets that Rep. Gaetz faces "charges” of sex trafficking and sex with a minor, even though that claim is, at least as of now, blatantly untrue. Rep. Liz Cheney (R-WY) said that explicitly this morning without contradiction on CBS News’ Face the Nation, and it was then repeated without contradiction by numerous media outlets:

‘Felt like a setup’: WhatsApp chat shows Gaetz ally scrambling to contain fallout

“I’m having to pay for vintage 99 to retain [a] lawyer,” Greenberg wrote in the WhatsApp chat to the friend, who discussed the messages with POLITICO on condition of anonymity. “They [federal agents] contacted her and are wanting her to talk. She doesn’t want to talk to them.”

Nor does she want to talk to the press. She blocked a POLITICO reporter on social media and her iPhone after she was called and texted to discuss the case Monday. Her attorney couldn’t be reached. POLITICO is withholding her name because she is the alleged victim of a sex crime.

BREAKING: CNN DIRECTOR CHARLIE CHESTER ADMITS CNN COVERAGE OF CONGRESSMAN MATT GAETZ IS ‘PROPAGANDA’

CNN is starting to get creamed over their Gaetz coverage

CNN Claims Matt Gaetz Didn’t Comment On Their

Hit-Piece. He Did. They Just Won’t Publish What He Said. But We Will.

CNN’s intentional malice can be proved using the words of Charlie Chester, the network’s technical director, who admitted the network’s anti-Gaetz reporting is “propaganda” aimed at aiding the Democratic Party. Now, they’ve doubled down on the malice by refusing to publish a statement from a spokesman for Rep. Gaetz while falsely claiming he “did not respond.”

The National Pulse has analyzed e-mails dated Tuesday, April 13th 2021, wherein Legal Correspondent Paula Reid reached out to Rep. Gaetz spokespeople at the Logan Circle Group.

In her original e-mail, Reid asks the Gaetz team to comment on whether he took recreational drugs. CNN did not pose questions in the original e-mail, included below:

PAULA REID’S ORIGINAL REQUEST FOR COMMENT.

The story itself actually quoted a woman who reached out to CNN to knock down the still baseless allegations about Rep. Gaetz and a 17-year-old prostitute. The CNN article even admits:

“One of the women who spoke to CNN said she did so in part because the picture of Gaetz as potentially connected to sex trafficking that has emerged in recent days does not align with what she saw. Both women said that they never saw anyone at the parties who appeared to be underage.”

But Reid also includes the outright falsehood, in her article, that “A spokesman for Gaetz did not respond directly to CNN’s request for comment but challenged the use of anonymous sources.”

THE GAETZ SPOX COMMENT, OFFERED AT 6:32PM.
In fact a spokesman for Rep. Gaetz responded to Reid at 6:32pm EST, a full hour and a half before her “deadline.” Her story did not run until over 12 hours later.

The Gaetz spokesman replied with the following, which CNN opted not to run in their salacious article:

“Hidden camera footage released today exposed CNN for using fake news stories about Rep. Gaetz to push self-described “propaganda” because Congressman Gaetz is an effective threat to the Democrat Party’s dangerous agenda. These are the words of your own employee. CNN viewers should find the explosive footage and come to their own conclusions about how credible CNN and its ‘anonymous sources’ are.”

The comment references the Project Veritas video released last night which reveals CNN Technical Director Charlie Chester, who bragged to a young girl he met on Tinder: “If the agenda say, is to like get, like Matt Gaetz right now, he’s like this Republican. He’s a problem for the Democratic Party because he’s so conservative and he can cause a lot of hiccups in passing of laws and what not. So it would be great for the Democratic Party to get him out.”

Chester then admits, “So we’re going to keep running these stories to keep hurting him and make it so that it can’t be buried and just like settled outside court just and like, you know, if we keep pushing that, it’s helping us (CNN).”

The fact that a CNN director was boasting to a girl he met on Tinder who turned out to be recording him, while admitting to promoting false sex stories about a sitting U.S. Congressman would usually be enough to humiliate a network. But for shameless CNN, it’s not quite enough. Now they have Paula Reid, their legal correspondent making up lies about quotes in stories, to cover for her hook-up-app-using technical director who got caught boasting about his network’s lack of journalistic ethics.

The National Pulse reached out to Paula Reid for a comment on this story, which we – unlike her – would have published in full. She did not respond to our request.

Reid previously worked for CBS, often shrieking at President Trump in the White House press briefing room. Having had her public tantrums covered positively by CNN, she joined the network a few months later.

She is the second recent CNN hire to be almost entirely focused on smearing Rep. Gaetz, with former POLITICO employee Gabby Orr recently having been caught falsifying information to create a story about Gaetz and President Trump.

The smear campaign is falling apart, eye witnesses starting to speak up

A woman who traveled to the Bahamas with Rep. Matt Gaetz in 2018 says no one was underage on the trip, according to Politico

Kelly McLaughlin

  • A woman who traveled to the Bahamas with Matt Gaetz in 2018 told Politico that everyone was over 18.
  • She said that the group included a woman who's now at the center of a sex-trafficking investigation.
  • Politico said it was unable to confirm the age of that woman at the time of the trip.
A woman who was with Rep. Matt Gaetz of Florida on a trip to the Bahamas in September 2018 that federal investigators are looking into told Politico that no one was underage on the trip.

The trip is a focus of a federal investigation into whether Gaetz broke federal sex-trafficking laws, according to CBS News.

Politico said a woman who is now key to the sex-trafficking investigation was on the trip.

Politico's source said that everyone, including that woman, was over 18 years old at the time and that no one involved had engaged in prostitution.

Politico did not identify either woman and said it was unable to independently confirm the date of birth of the woman who's key to the investigation.

A Florida politician at the centre of an investigation into Rep. Matt Gaetz has provided federal law enforcement with information about the congressman’s activities as he seeks a plea deal to resolve his own legal woes, according to a person familiar with the matter, offering prosecutors potentially important testimony as they build a case against a higher-profile target.

Joel Greenberg, the former tax collector for Seminole County, Fla., has since last year been describing to prosecutors how he and Gaetz would pay women for sex using cash or gifts in potential violation of federal trafficking laws, this person said on the condition of anonymity to discuss an ongoing criminal probe.

Greenberg faces a 33-count indictment that includes a charge of sex trafficking of a child, and his attorney and a prosecutor on the case said at a court hearing last week that he was likely to plead guilty. If he decides to testify against Gaetz, R-Fla., Greenberg could help prosecutors explain various financial transactions that have drawn attention to the congressman’s conduct – though Greenberg would also likely face significant questions about his credibility.

DENIES WRONGDOING
Gaetz, whose fierce allegiance to former president Donald Trump and frequent cable news appearances won praise from fellow conservatives, has not been accused of a crime and vehemently denies wrongdoing.

Greenberg’s plea deal has not yet been finalized. A Justice Department spokesman declined to comment Tuesday.

Greenberg’s attorney Fritz Scheller has repeatedly declined to answer questions about his client’s cooperation, first reported by the New York Times, though he hinted ominously after last week’s court hearing that Greenberg was “uniquely situated” to provide information about the congressman.

“I’m sure Matt Gaetz is not feeling very comfortable today,” Scheller said at the time.

VIDEOS OF NAKED OR TOPLESS WOMEN
The Justice Department has been exploring whether Greenberg procured women for Gaetz, who represents a mostly conservative district in Florida’s panhandle, and whether the two men sometimes shared sexual partners, including the 17-year-old girl at issue in Greenberg’s case. Gaetz would boast to people in Florida politics that he met women through Greenberg, and he also showed them videos on his phone of naked or topless women on multiple occasions, including at parties with Greenberg, people familiar with the matter have said.

Like others, they spoke on the condition of anonymity to discuss the investigation.

It was in the course of investigating Greenberg on other suspected crimes that federal authorities discovered evidence of possible sex trafficking by Gaetz, people familiar with the matter have said. They then launched a separate investigation into the congressman.

Gaetz has denied that he had sex with a 17-year-old as an adult, or that he paid women for sex. Harlan Hill, a representative for Gaetz, repeated that denial in a statement Tuesday and pointed to a report in Politico about an anonymous friend of Greenberg’s allegedly complaining to him last year that Greenberg was trying to draw him in the matter.

“Congressman Gaetz has never paid for sex. Based on reporting from Politico, it seems Mr. Greenberg has been trying to ensnare innocent people in his troubles for quite some time,” Hill said, referring to news of Greenberg’s cooperation with law enforcement as a “non-story.”

Even if Greenberg does agree to cooperate, he could be a problematic witness, and Gaetz could challenge his credibility.

Greenberg was initially charged with fabricating allegations and evidence against a political opponent in the race for tax collector, and prosecutors have since accused him, in addition to the alleged sex crime, of wire fraud and submitting false claims to get an Economic Injury Disaster Loan while he was out of jail on bond.

If anything, this mess is a cluster-fuck for Gaetz.

That he doesn't have much support from his own party says a lot, I think. Whether he's guilty or innocent, I don't think his career will bring him another term.

Rep. McCarthy: Rep. Gaetz Is Innocent Until Proven Guilty

UPDATED 8:14 AM PT – Friday, April 16, 2021

House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy (R-Calif.) said Rep. Matt Gaetz (R-Fla.) will remain on the House Judiciary Committee and is “innocent until proven guilty.”

During a press briefing on Thursday, the Republican said he personally met with the Florida lawmaker who professed his innocence. Gaetz has been accused of misusing campaign funds to finance travel for women.

“Matt Gaetz says he is innocent, there’s an investigation going on and I’ll let the investigation take care of itself before I take any action,” McCarthy asserted.

Republican Party rules require lawmakers to resign committee assignments when charged with felonies that carry at least a two-year sentence and McCarthy pointed out Gaetz has yet to be charged with any crime.

“Matt Gaetz is is the same as any American, he’s innocent until proven guilty,” continued the House minority leader. “There’s no charges against him yet; if a charge comes forward, it would be dealt with at that time.”

And I'm all for waiting to see what the investigation says.

However, my entire point all along has been - had this been a Dem, the right wing Republicans would be all over it demanding the Dem resign.

For myself, I honestly don't care if he wants to be a sugar daddy to women trying to make money. Nor do I care if he was with prostitutes. I do care if he did sex traffic a minor though. And if it turns out he lied about any of the sex stuff with women, will there be a demand for his removal by the GOP as what happened with Clinton?
