A puddle is a tiny, temporary, body of water that only exists during and immediately after a bout of precipitation.

A lake is a much larger and permanent body of water.

In the English language, however, there is etymologically no difference between a pond and a lake. Ponds are usually seen as larger than puddles and smaller than lakes but there is no scientific basis on what size a pond has to be to be a lake.

Canada has over 2 million lakes if we go by the same criteria as your above link (there are many lakes of the 40 000 are under 1ha).
The 31 752 number represents lakes over 3 sqkm (300 hectares).

I'm leaving for Laredo, TX Monday.. then cross into Mexico and then back to the USA to Canada.

I always make sure to stop at the Dollar General and buy up the store with stuff I need in Canada.. get a haircut, because you can't do that in Alberta as of Sunday.. it's now in total lockdown..

How long does it take you to drive from the Canadian border to the Mexican border?

3 days.. depending on weather 3.5 days.. I can only drive 11 hours per day.

First day I can make it from Calgary to Billings, MT or Hardin, MT

2nd day Billings. MT to Lamar, CO or Stratford, TX

3rd Stratford to Laredo or Crystal City to stop short with 2 hours to go..
