Canadian factory sector growth jumps to two-year high in August

Canadian manufacturing activity accelerated in August to its fastest pace in two years, adding to evidence of a rapid rebound in the domestic economy as businesses reopen following coronavirus-related disruptions, data showed on Tuesday.

The IHS Markit Canada Manufacturing Purchasing Managers’ index (PMI) rose to a seasonally adjusted 55.1 in August, its highest level since the same month two years ago, from 52.9 in July. A reading above 50 indicates expansion in the sector.

Made two widgets this year. Up from one defective one last year. Good thing we have all those factories busy building the parts necessary for Site C and KITAMAT LNG plant and pipelines.

Real estate is also on fire.

The North Island is now seeing bidding war for the few properties that are on sale.

That has never happened here before. A house in Comox sold for over $100k more than the ask.

Bullshit. Just you are not old enough to remember it.

Raise the interest rate and 1% and watch how crazy it gets..

With the pending election in the USA, a possible no confidence vote in Canada, and if the Bank of Canada raises the interest rate, plus oil taking another dive... Alberta will have a fire sale at the banks like the 80's and many going bankrupt.

Every time the tide goes out there is new waterfront property to sell to the flatlanders.
Why? Just clear cut another 2,891 sq km and change the license plate slogan to Super Duper Natural to convince yourself it's true.

Flatlanders go to Arizona, not BC. We cant live without sunshine.

Lot of them seemed to have forgotten to take a left at Alberta.

Shame about the whole, umm.. Oil thing.... *awkward*
It must be awkward for you considering some of that growth is the result of pipelines being built, despite your meek, pathetic protestations that oil is dead.

So I take it you have a problem with things like paint, medical gowns and gloves, toothbrushes, toothpaste tubes, lubricants, car tires, artificial limbs, CDs and DVDs, dentures, refrigerators, toilet seats, rubbing alcohol, electrical tape, crayons, movie film, bandages, shower curtains, safety glasses, heart valves, vaporizers, bike and motorcycle helmets, antihistamines, cortisone, skis, tents, waterproofing, undercoating, asphalt, roofing tiles, PPE, rain ponchos, and around 600 other consumer products, many of them everyday consumer products.

Or are you just another ALT-left retard who thinks oil is only used for heat, light and making cars go "vroom"?
