I know this is alarming to hear and it disgusts me to no end being the dog lover (I love my German Shepherd) that I am but it raises the question of how other cultures view and value animals.

I hugged my wee guy after I read this, Mockingbird. I don't believe culture or the value of animals is entering into this at all. People are starving to death over there. Wouldn't surprise me to learn that they are also eating vermin. An empty belly cares little for the source of nourishment.

Yeah I get it, people are starving but it is also cultural in many countries to consume animals we would never consider consuming here. And the same is easily said of us and the animals we consume as well. It's startling to think of giving up a pet though, I would find that very difficult, if not impossible. It make me hug my boy a little closer as well.

They are in for a rough winter due to crop failures from flooding, Ping Pong will be praying for a regime change in the states so he can make a quick deal and get sanctions lifted over food supplies.
