The various politicos and ecotard lobbies have unilaterally stated that the cause is specifically due to human activity.
Why?.. Well, because Mother Gaia can't pay taxes, fees, etc, therefore, the low info mouth breathers can't blame Gaia now, can they?.. Interesting how groups like the UN that are on the verge of bankruptcy propose a save-the-planet-tax (only payable by 'have' nations) that the UN will graciously collect and administer?
This is the reason that the aforementioned NEVER refer to the multiple episodes of continental glaciation (and consequent receeding of said glaciers) that occurred before... (wait for it)... humans ever walked the Earth
You can obfuscate the conversation with all kinds of goobledegook about forcings - OR - you can use easily digestible words like 'natural cycles'... Even the mouth breathers will understand that

Okay....

Why is it warming?

The Earth works on what we call geologic time. 70 or 80 years is less than a blink of the eye.

Curious, why not pre-1950?.. maybe include 1 or 2 of the ice ages in order to get a better view of the natural cycles?

Pre 1950 increases as well.

Any thoughts on the current warming since the 1950-1981 mean. It doesn't happen for no reason.

Just curious what you think it might be.

Let's see...

I'm guessing that you aren't interested in the natural cycles idea so I'll go with ladders.

The wide spread use of murder ladders beginning in 1949 in the sub Sahara regions is the cause of global warming during the period from 1950 - 1981

I'm sorry, perhaps I wasn't clear. I asked about warming after the 1950-1981 mean average.

If it's natural as you say, what is that process and how is it effecting the temp rise over the last 40 years?

My sarcastic response is a reflection that the Earth's systems occur over geologic time.

Excepting events like earth quakes, volcanic eruptions, etc, the climatic 'system' is relatively slow moving (relative to our lives) in terms that changes occurring way back in the past are expressed long into the future.

Further, I believe that catastrophic events like volcanic activity/eruptions have a far more profound effect on the climate that that of the general activity of the global population.

Scientists don't disputes any of that.

Like you say, their is a forcing....volcanos....Milankovitch cycle...greenhouse gases like Methane...the sun.... all of which are taken into account in the scientific literature.

What is the current forcing that is causing current warming?

Why 1950 as a starting point? Why the 1950-1981 mean average?

The period of 1951-1980 was chosen largely because the U.S. National Weather Service uses a three-decade period to define "normal" or average temperature. The NASA GISS analysis effort began around 1980, so the most recent 30 years at the time was 1951-1980.

Can you explain the rise in temp since the mean average of this time period?

Even the video you posted featuring Dr. Robson (Historian) gives the reason.

I'm glad you've accepted the limited scope of what defines climate bed wetter "record heat".
