Did you know that:

50% of Canadians are working from home and 79% of them report that they are having a positive experience.

85% of Canadians who have relatives living in seniors’ residences are concerned.

17% of Canadians have received the CERB, up 6% from last week.

17% of Canadians and 23% of Americans know someone with COVID-19.

77% of Canadians are satisfied with the Trudeau government

These are some of the findings of Leger’s latest survey, conducted April 17-19, 2020 among 1,504 Canadians and 1,001 Americans, randomly recruited from LEO’s online panel.

Prince Philip praises key workers and those tackling coronavirus

The Duke of Edinburgh has issued a rare public statement to praise key workers who are keeping essential services running during the coronavirus crisis.

Prince Philip, 98, also said he wanted to recognise the "vital and urgent" medical and scientific work taking place to tackle the pandemic.

He has rarely been seen in public since he retired from public duties in 2017.

During the outbreak the duke has been staying at Windsor Castle with the Queen, who turns 94 on Tuesday.

In his message, published online, the duke said: "As we approach World Immunisation Week, I wanted to recognise the vital and urgent work being done by so many to tackle the pandemic; by those in the medical and scientific professions, at universities and research institutions, all united in working to protect us from Covid-19.

"On behalf of those of us who remain safe and at home, I also wanted to thank all key workers who ensure the infrastructure of our life continues; the staff and volunteers working in food production and distribution, those keeping postal and delivery services going, and those ensuring the rubbish continues to be collected."

The duke is affiliated to more than 750 organisations, including those in the scientific, technological research, healthcare and infrastructure sectors which have been responding to the outbreak.

His grandson, the Duke of Cambridge, said on Friday that the Royal Family were doing everything they could to protect the duke - who turns 99 in June - and the Queen.

Prince William said: "Obviously I think very carefully about my grandparents who are the age they're at - we're doing everything we can to make sure that they're isolated away and protected from this."

Earlier this month the Queen, who has cancelled her birthday gun salutes on Tuesday, made a televised address to the nation in which she stressed the country would overcome the virus.

The Queen has ordered there to be no traditional gun salutes to mark her birthday today as Kensington Palace celebrates the event with the release of a portrait showing her with the future King and Queen:

Scientists in California, too.

Years from now, historians will be looking back at this time and telling people all about the time that vast swathes of humanity were put under lockdown and what a big mistake it was.

Everyone on this forum knows this. We're on the right side of history.

So, I gather you don't believe you should be listening to your Queen or Prince Philip. I assume yog think they are also lieing to the citizens of Great Britain. I'd that right?

The only way in or out of Montana is on foot, horseback or boat up or down the Missouri.

Most of America is pointless, if you think about it.

Most of it consists of states with no useful purpose and hardly anyone living there - there is no logical reason for such states to exist. They're only there because 150-200 years ago groups of bored and drunken cartographers gathered together late at night drinking and decided to just create a load of lines on a map of North America for fun.

They even just drunkenly created many of the states' names just out of their drunken heads, names that are just complete inventions with no etymological origin. Like Idaho.

No. I think the lockdown should be ended.

The Queen and Prince Philip are not virologists and/or epidemiologists the last time I checked.

Unlike you and the other lockdowners I'm able to think for myself and have my own opinions on every matter. I'm not a programmed automaton.

I see, nice to see you finally admit your disdain for the monarchy. I'll keep that in mind.

Also, are you allowed to go to the market to get food and liquor? Are you allowed to go out to get fresh air as long as you maintain the 2 metre social distancing? If the answer is yes, then you're not locked down, dumbass.

How is it you almost died? From what taxme says and it appears pgs agrees, this is nothing but a seasonal flu and in fact is actually an excersise to see how we, the dumb populace, reacts to a pandemic in preparation for the big one where the nwo takes over. It's not real. It's all a big play..... pretend......
Did I say that ?

So long, minibar: From check-ins to room service, hotel stays will radically change in a post-coronavirus world
The onset of the coronavirus has prompted a sea of changes in the hotel industry that could bring an end to staples like minibars and breakfast buffets. Everything from check-in to dining and amenities will see a far less hands-on approach, running counter to hospitality’s age-old business standard.

Our lives could be quite different in the post virus era. Things we took for granted for so long...??? He who adapts will "survive"
