Just over a million Canadians are now juggling more than one job and work an average of 50 hours a week, according to a new Statistics Canada survey.
(Having multiple jobs obviously INCREASES the amount of travel the worker must do and thus crappy McJobs INCREASE global warming!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!)
The number of people working multiple jobs has almost doubled since 1978, rising rapidly in the 1980s, then edging up to 5.7% of the Canadian workers in 2018, according to the report, titled Multiple Jobholders in Canada.
(WE see the numbers change more unpleasantly each season - each year there are more part time McJobs for ordinary people and more grand HOG jobs supplying LOTS OF GRAVY to LIE-beral ALLIES!! It is NOT sustainable as our rising debt loads and inability to repair infrastructure PROVE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!)
Women, part-time workers and people in their 20s are more likely to hold multiple jobs, the report said.
“People engage in multiple job holding for various reasons, such as out of financial necessity, to ensure continuous employment, or to accumulate skills and expertise in other occupations,” report said.
(Financial necessity seems to be the big motivator here even though LIE-berals enjoy claiming that our economy is “booming” !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!)
People who hold more than one job typically work in female-dominated sectors of health care and social assistance, and educational services, said the report.
LIE-berals seem to struggle to to tell us what is really going on!! People who work in “health care” and hold second jobs are usually cleaners and orderlies and the staff at the old folks home - all areas needing little skill and thus the workers are easily replaced - after all LIE-berals have to keep costs down some place!!!!!!!!!!!!!)
(Those holding second jobs in “education” are cleaners and crossing guards and lunch room attendants - with many of these people having previously LOST full time jobs that moved to China etc - thus they took those McJobs OF NECESSITY DUE TO AN UGLY LACK OF OTHER OPTIONS !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!)
(VERY FEW PEOPLE take on these McJobs happily -a measure of NECESSITY is required since the wage is POOR and the time and money that must be invested in travel to the various work sites is HIGH!! This is in sharp contrast to the grand gravy and comparatively wonderful working conditions, benefits and holidays offered to full time unionized govt HOGS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!)
While the Statistics Canada report does not offer insight into how these workers’ fare financially, a recent Bank of Canada survey found one third of Canadians chose to take up “informal work,” such as driving for a ride-sharing service, housecleaning and babysitting, as a result of weak economic conditions.

Just got off a call with Chinese President Xi. Discussed the CoronaVirus and the TV show The Bachelor - which he's NEVER seen! Fake News will probably say I took a big risk by talking to Xi, but I DID wear a mask AND washed my hands as soon as I got off the call. I'm not stupide!
