Don't you think shedding jobs and dealers while expanding sounds kind of funny.?Unless They are scamming the taxpayers somewhere.
Possibly, he's getting ready to fold the American operations because historically, they lose money.

Only the ones built in Ontariowe.
They have very much lower defect rates than they have coming out of the American plants. Our local Ford line (just a couple of thousand meters from here) does their most difficult builds. There used to be a Ford minivan made here (it's all high end SUVs now, exported all over the World) that was moved to a US plant where they failed to get ANYTHING that worked properly off their line. That van came back here until they finally put it to bed.

Anyway, car production is too expensive here, too except for high end stuff that requires smart assembly ... like the new Toyota Rav 4s. The US educational system is too abysmal to produce a smart workforce, anymore.

The cheap stuff went to the Third World along time ago and all the MAGA bullshit in the World won't help the US plants.

Tesla is just the latest of a very long line.

These public charging stations, is it like a gas station where you insert your credit card and buy a certain amount of charge or is is totally free (paid for by the taxpayer)? If the later, no wonder there are scuffles. People only fight for something when they can save a buck or 2.

The ones that I have seen require a card. I think that some businesses are offering them as a courtesy.

EVs are not cost effective, only thru gov subsidies are they cost effective, otherwise the life cycle cost of an EV is much higher than conventional vehicle, mainly because the batteries have a short finite life and it’s not cost effective to replace batteries
