He was doing okay until he pulled the hanky out. I tuned him out after that stunt. I thought CTV did a fairly good job of covering the event. I've been watching it for a couple of hours now and there is so much personal history being told. Stories of 19 year old boys who went to war and never came home and those who lived to come home but never forgot. In spite of the little potato's hugely embarrassing lack of control, I found much of it very moving.

I cherish our democracy, myself. I was willing to fight for it. The results may not measure up all of the time but our ability to throw the bums out is incredibly precious, exceedingly rare in history, only a few centuries old and fleeting if the thugs take over, again. The evidence says that Trump would be happy to end it. Thugs-R-Us is the Trump universe.
That is exactly what we plan to do to turdOWE. What we need is someone like Trump.
After world war II CMHC funded low income developments were built everywhere to accommodate veterans. This no longer happens. Housing development is all for-profit. If the government funded massive low income housing development the same "gubmit" whiners would be crying socialism.
The fire didn't cause the pipeline to be shelved, that is why the place is dead.

Canada Welcomes Cuba's Commitment to End Venezuela Crisis - Report
Canadian Foreign Minister Chrystia Freeland said on Friday that Havana will have a role to play in Venezuela's return to democracy although Ottawa and Havana disagree on whether President Nicolas Maduro should stay in office, Reuters reported.
Freeland made her remarks in Toronto after meeting Cuban Foreign Minister Bruno Rodriguez, according to Reuters.
Earlier this week, US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo and Freeland discussed ongoing efforts to support the rebuilding of democracy in Venezuela and also opposition leader Juan Guaido.
The US Department of State spokesperson said Tuesday that Pompeo and Freeland also agreed to continue cooperation towards exerting pressure on Cuba to provide a "democratic and prosperous" future for the Cuban people.
