There are no tanks there going up in flames, that must be terribly disappointing to you. The 'attempted coup' is the only thing going up in flames, that must be terribly disappointing to you.
First Cuba, now this. . . get ready for the kingdom to implode.

BUENOS AIRES (Sputnik) – Venezuelan Foreign Minister Jorge Arreaza lashed out at politicians close to US President Donald Trump for "celebrating" in the wake of electricity supply issues facing the South American country.

"While the Venezuelan society has calmly accepted the circumstances that resulted from the sabotage in the country’s electric power industry, and the employees of Corpoelec [national electricity supplier] are restlessly working, those close to Donald Trump have been celebrating, enjoying the reckless distortion [of facts] despite what Venezuelans are going through," Arreaza wrote on Twitter in response to the recent comments by US politicians.
In his tweet on Friday, Arreaza referred to tweets by US State Secretary Mike Pompeo who denied claims that Washington had a role in the electricity system collapse.

Earlier, Venezuelan Minister of Communication and Information Jorge Rodriguez pledged that the country's electric power supply would be restored nationwide in the coming hours, adding that the supply has already been restored in the eastern part of the Latin American country.

Venezuelan Minister of Communication and Information Jorge Rodriguez said on Saturday that the country’s near-total blackout has been caused by a cyberattack against the Guri hydroelectric power plant, which provides over 70 percent of the nation's electricity. Rodrigues claimed the outage could have been staged by the US.
“They [the US] carried out a cyberattack on [Guri’s] automatic control system. Everything shows that it is a multiformat and violent attack against all of Venezuela", Rodriguez told the country’s state television network.

Why not announce an election let UN observers in to monitor them and if he really is the people's choice there should be no reason for sanctions or an international call for change.

Venezuelan Top Prosecutor Seeks to Probe Guaido Over Sabotaging Electric System

The blackout has been ongoing in Venezuela for almost a week following an incident at a major hydroelectric power plant, Guri, which national electricity supplier Corpoelec called "sabotage". President Nicolas Maduro blamed the incident on Washington, citing US threats to apply all means against Venezuela.

Venezuelan Prosecutor General Tarek Saab has requested to open an investigation into self-proclaimed President Guaido over his alleged role in sabotaging the country's electric system. Earlier, Venezuelan authorities arrested Spanish-Venezuelan journalist reporter and activist Luis Carlos Diaz on suspicion of also being involved in sabotaging the country's electric system.

You are the fuking mouthpiece in favor of the coup, so step right up to the mic and explain who the fuktards in the area have been in the last 70 years. Feel free to use Iran between the years of 1953-1979 as being the same as the glory days in Venezuela before Hugo stepped up to save the locals from 'your kind'.

Brazil Plans to Let Foreign Firms Invest in Uranium Mining - Reports

Brasilia is set to give foreign investors greater leeway in the mining sector; the government wants to open up indigenous reserves to mining and override a law mandating that Brazilian companies have at least 51% equity ownership in mining projects within 150 kilometres of the country's border.

The Brazilian government is planning a sweeping reform of mining legislation, clearing the way for foreign companies to invest in prospecting and the mining of uranium in the country, which has 5 percent of the world's uranium reserves.
Brazil's minister of mines and energy, ex-Navy admiral Bento Albuquerque, told Reuters that Jair Bolsonaro's government already has a bill in place, but is going to negotiate the final version in the National Congress.
"We have to resolve internally the issue of uranium exploration that today is a monopoly of the state and is in the hands of Industrias Nucleares do Brasil," Albuquerque said.
Set up in 1988, Industrias Nucleares do Brasil (Nuclear Industries of Brazil) is a state-controlled company that has a monopoly on uranium extraction. Today only state-owned nuclear companies are allowed to invest in the uranium sector.
Albuquerque added that the government also needs to improve its "capacity to control and supervise" uranium mining. According to him, Brazil is also looking to open up international competition for other projects in the nuclear sector. He stressed, however, that the only area that should be left out is nuclear fuel production.
Earlier this week, the minister met with US Energy Secretary Rick Perry in Texas. He said that Brazil seeks to sign a pact with the US next week that could pave the way for American companies to invest in uranium exploration and new nuclear power plants.
On 4 March, Albuquerque voiced plans to open up reserves lying beneath indigenous lands, which occupy 13 percent of Brazil's territory, to mining. This drew condemnation from the country's Indigenous Missionary Council, which said it "repudiated, with vehement indignation" the government's proposal.
Another plan is to lift a ban on foreign companies holding controlling stakes (51 percent and more) in mining operations within 150 kilometres of Brazil's border. These proposals have yet to be approved by the Congress.

Venezuela crisis: Former UN rapporteur says US sanctions are killing citizens

The first UN rapporteur to visit Venezuela for 21 years has told The Independent the US sanctions on the country are illegal and could amount to “crimes against humanity” under international law. Former special rapporteur Alfred de Zayas, who finished his term at the UN in March, has criticized the US for engaging in “economic warfare” against Venezuela which he said is hurting the economy and killing Venezuelans.

The comments come amid worsening tensions in the country after the US and UK have backed Juan Guaido, who appointed himself “interim president” of Venezuela as hundreds of thousands marched to support him. European leaders are calling for “free and fair” elections. Russia and Turkey remain Nicolas Maduro’s key supporters.
Mr De Zayas, a former secretary of the UN Human Rights Council (HRC) and an expert in international law, spoke to The Independent following the presentation of his Venezuela report to the HRC in September. He said that since its presentation the report has been ignored by the UN and has not sparked the public debate he believes it deserves.

“Sanctions kill,” he told The Independent, adding that they fall most heavily on the poorest people in society, demonstrably cause death through food and medicine shortages, lead to violations of human rights and are aimed at coercing economic change in a “sister democracy”.

Hands Off Venezuela: Pence Bullies Venezuela at UN Security Council. U.S. Peace Council Contradicts Western Media Distortions

In a March 26 United Nations press briefing strong on fact and devoid of bigotry, the United States Peace Council, headed by Bahman Azad, just returned from their recent visit to Venezuela, presented an eyewitness account of realities on the ground in Venezuela. Their factual information drastically contradicted Western media distortions and propaganda intended to discredit the government of President Maduro. The panel included Dr. Margaret Flowers a pediatrician and co-Director of Popular Resistance.org, Attorney Kevin Zeese, also co-director of Popular Resistance.org, Sara Flounders of the International Action Center and founder of the organization No War on Venezuela.
Both Dr. Flowers and Sara Flounders confirmed that Presidents Chavez and Maduro had constructed 6,000 medical clinics, trained 18,000 physicians, and built almost three million housing units to provide decent homes for the poorest citizens. They had also provided the highest per capita availability of pharmaceuticals in Latin America. Living standards for the poor dramatically improved.
Attorney Kevin Zeese confirmed that the current Venezuelan constitution guarantees human rights and defense of law and civil society. He added that there were 168 credentialed international observers during the recent re-election of Maduro, and they confirmed that Maduro won 68% of the vote. There is zero legitimacy to Guaido’s farcical claim to the “interim presidency,”: according to the Venezuelan constitution, only if Maduro was too ill to govern, or dead, could he be replaced, and then, only the Vice President could legally replace him.
Following the failed coup against President Chavez in 2004, the US, in violation of international law under the Rome Statute, imposed illegal sanctions to cripple and ultimately destroy the Venezuelan economy, and since 2017 have imposed coercive economic sanctions which are tantamount to modern day piracy. The US and its proxies, including the UK, have stolen billions of dollars belonging to the Venezuelan people, and have blocked pharmaceutical supplies, crippling the medical system; when Venezuela attempted to purchase medications from India and Turkey, the US blocked that.
