In Bizzarro World you might be right.... however... you are not in Bizzarro World.

Saudi Arabia b*tched slapped Canada. Your PM clearly bit off more than he could chew. Pure arrogance. Mind your own business.

Doubling down on dumb.

Ahhh, the next "Allies" ... Britain, America and Saudi Arabia ....

The new "Axis of Evil" ... Canada, The European Union and China ....

Wait wait wait.... Whoa Whoa Whoa....

You are actually putting Canada alongside China and the EU!!?!?!

It is that type of thinking that got Canada in trouble in the first place!

What did I tell you about punching above your weight?

Any ideas as to how this should be handled with effective results?? Besides stopping doing undiplomatic statements via the silly Twitter. If the gov staff are trying to keep the young engaged in national affairs......via Twitter.......then engage your brain before touching the keys. THINK...Consequence........ otherwise you are as silly ^ unprofessional as trump The author of that tweet should be disciplined for her tactlessness and using inappropriate channels to communicate.

We cannot control SA.(Nor should we ) ...... and yes their reactions over the top ridiculous....... and there is probably more to this than just being insulted by the tweet........as the young prince is flexing his muscle and this tweet gave him the opening.
We should NOT be like the US who meddles everywhere it sees fit for whatever excuse they can come up with. Maintaining a national high ethical and moral standard.......or at least aiming for it......... is positive......but discretion is needed before criticising another .....more volatile nation......with an immature prince.

Interesting that Russia took sides with SA. Trump's silence is saying he too sides with SA........as he does not really like Trudeau anyhow....and wants to remain in flavor with SA.
Notice how Trump and the prince OVER REACT to criticism or perceived criticism. Neither can handle it in a mature way

Reading up more on this.... No other nation came to Canada's aid on this as of this post.

Trudeau will think twice before he tries to bully another nation. Saudi Arabia laid a beat down.

Saudi Arabia is the smaller of the two countries in population (20% smaller), area, and the size of our economies. Saudis come here for their education and health care and Canadians go there to teach and consult to Saudis but the opposite does not occur.

Saudi's are deeply invested in agriculture and oil in Canada, 4 Billion in annual trade, I wouldn't say they are nothing in Canada that is why JT is opening the back door slightly

More than 2/3rds of this 'trade' is us buying oil. We can do that from anywhere.
We export more to Norway than we do to Saudi Arabia.

At least the US can handle itself.

Trudeau bit off way more than he could chew.

A Lesson to you... don't meddle.

News Flash.... NOBODY has sided with Canada.

Trudeau got you in a quagmire.

I feel bad for good Canadians.

The Americans are cowards.

You are a coward.

You seem particularly upset.

Have you considered making that your signature line, since it so accurately describes what you post?

As do you.

Man... this is not a good day for proud Canadians.

Saudi's own a large share in Syncrude, Viterra, and controlling shares in the new Wheatboard, that I know about.

Twin... they either have no clue about the damage that Trudeau caused with this.

They only know what they've read in their fables.

It is hilarious though to see the Left and Liberals falling back on Fossil Fuels as the savoir.

When it comes down to it... Oil trumps Climate Change.

I don't know how Trudeau can save face here. Not one country has come to his aid on this pure arrogance.

Like the Trump USA is not the laughingstock of the world. As if Putin is not laughing and lets no forget Kim -boy. and

***********

Back t o the question: What is the best way to simmer all this down.......and move forward. The boy prince is going to have to save face somehow........ and by letting him do it .......we regain c control over the mess. and still retain a degree of dignity.

Let's hear some ideas

Yep when he realized the scope 'Lil potatoe cracked open the backdoor, especially once he realized SA is big money for his vote base of college students

Good.

Arrivederci.

We don't want to be beholden to those monsters. Let's do better than that.

I agree they are not the people we want to have influence in our country hopefully they take their Mosques that they paid for with them Wahhabism is not good for our society. Sadly we don't know how intertwined our economy is with SA, and how much debt they are holding over us.

JT started by opening the backdoor by acknowledging how far SA has come along on Human rights, next step to drop to both knees and proclaim that if SA keeps on course on human rights the world will be the better for it and apologize for jumping the gun but would like to see their citizens returned unharmed. IMHO
