Actually the two deficits are quite different. The US deficit has been caused by putting more money into the hands of the wealthy. There is no increased spending in the US to repair its decaying infrastructure or improve its social services.
The Canadian deficit has been caused by putting more cash into the economy in the form of infrastructure grants and the maintenance of social services. Which one do you prefer?
Our debt is living beyond our means , and passing our greed onto our grandchildren’s shoulders .
