This rail system would work to charge vehicles traveling outbound from hub cities.
For instance in Edmonton there could be on on the Henday near the Yellowhead west for traffic travelling west/south and one on the eastern part for East/North traffic.
IN Vancouver there could be one at each Ferry terminal

Governments proposed for the first time on Monday to reduce climate pollution from airplanes, plugging one of the biggest loopholes in last December’s landmark Paris agreement.
(The vaunted Paris Climate Agreement has already been PROVEN as a useless and worthless feel good exercise- and now we hear of this vast new source of dangerous pollution that has not yet even been considered!)
The global initiative was a first attempt to halt carbon emissions from air travel – one of the fastest growing sources of climate pollution.
(In the aftermath of the 9/11 terror attack in which 25 percent of the world airline fleet was grounded for the best part of a year- Cdn Geographic Magazine quoted climatologists explaining that air quality across the planet was IMPROVING! The same article also stated that airplanes produce 75-85 percent of ALL pollution related to transportation- that means planes, trains, trucks, cars and ships- whether carrying freight or passengers! Naturally LIE-berals have since IGNORED the reports because if they became publicly accepted it might interfere with the carbon rich lifestyle of LIE-berals and their civil service union Hog allies! But now we have new information and greater detail which they cannot deny without looking very foolish!)
In a call with reporters, White House officials described the standards as “a huge deal”, noting that the aviation authority has also proposed an aspirational goal to achieve carbon neutrality by 2020.
(An “aspirational goal”? I guess that is the Yankee version of a Cdn LIE-beral “stretch goal” that will NEVER be reached?)
But campaign groups, specifically the International Council on Clean Transportation, said the proposed standards were a missed opportunity and would have little real effect in curbing emissions.
The standards proposed at an expert meeting of the International Civil Aviation Organisation (Icao) in Montreal would apply to all new commercial and business aircraft delivered after 1 January 2028.
(No doubt some LIE-berals are even now calculating how much an electric powered airplane might cost them- if funded with OUR tax dollars!)
But they exclude aircraft that are already in use, and as most airlines have lifetimes of 20-30 years, it will take decades to cover the current fleet.
In addition, the standards would on average require only a 4% reduction in the cruise fuel consumption of new aircraft, compared to 2015.
(In other words LIE-berals are PRETENDING to seek solutions to the problem THEY HAVE MADE by handing out so much borrowed money so Pigs might fly- on our dime! One quick and easy way to reduce air travel and resulting global warming would be to simply CUT BACK on Hog Gravy! After all, back in 2012, Cdn news media told us that 97 percent of ALL defined benefit pension plans in the country were in serious danger of going bankrupt!)
(LIE-berals simply CANNOT shovel our cash into civil service union Hog pension plans fast enough! And General Motors employees are jittery after their virtually bankrupt pension plan mandated TWO separate reductions in benefits! And LIE-beral Dalton McGinty rashly promised to use tax payers money to bail out the GM pension- if necessary if only we elected him premier of Ontari-owe! Oh well- just another FORGOTTEN LIE-beral “stretch goal”!)
(LIE-berals have made promises to OSSTF- our Ontari-owe high school teachers totalling fifty five billion dollars in IOU`s- that we cannot honour without breaking our economy! Do the math here- there are NINETEEN civil service unions working for our provincial govt- with three other levels of govt each with its own LIE-beral issued union Hog IOU`s! Yeah- FOUR levels of govt and each one has IOU`s for the unions that serve THEM!!!! That is a total of SEVENTY SIX DIFFERENT union groups- each with their hands out to provincial Ontari-owe and in federal Ottawa ALONE! And then add in the unions in the 10 other provinces and then add in the unions in all our various municipal govts!)
(Hence the Ontari-owe LIE-beral determination to turn our electrical generating system into a GIANT SLUSH FUND FOR HOGS! It also explains the LIE-beral dedication to their carbon crap and trade tax- they DESPERATELY NEED MORE GRAVY!!!! And LIE-berals are quite comfortable in knowing that carbon crap and trade ONLY cleans cash from wallets and leaves the dirt in the air!)
The (Icao) proposals will be put to countries for formal adoption next year.
(Yes- just like the Paris Accords that offered us USELESS promises but permitted LIE-berals to pose for selfies as if they had really done something.... or other!)
Icao said the standard was aimed at larger aircraft, which were responsible for the vast majority of global aviation emissions.
“The goal of this process is ultimately to ensure that when the next generation of aircraft types enter service, there will be guaranteed reductions in international CO2 emissions,” Olumuyiwa Benard Aliu, president of the Icao council said.
“We also recognize that the projected doubling of global passengers and flights by 2030 must be managed responsibly and sustainably.”
(Oh- there it is- a DOUBLING of the airline flights that are already killing our environment! So we had better get used to July heat waves and freak winter weather!)
The exclusion of high-polluting industries such as international aviation and shipping was seen as a major weakness of the historic agreement reached last December.
(And how odd that the Chinese have just aided us in making the sea lanes a little CLEANER! Yes- China has refused to take any more of our recycled crap and that means LESS shipping! But our LIE-beral overlords are now scrambling to find some other way of dealing with our mess! Good luck with that one- incineration is OUT due to pollution concerns; and land fills are handy things- if you can find some place to set one up without enraging the locals; and any REAL recycling is OUT thanks to LIE-beral priorities! LIE-berals DO NOT want to re-open the debate about forcing us to recycle- for one thing the unions making the new cans and bottles might stop voting LIE-beral! And already over taxed and time squeezed citizens are likely to grumble about having to first PAY deposits on food containers and then to wash them out after use so they can be recycled- BECAUSE NOBODY wants to live next door to a recycling collection yard full of cans and bottles laced with rotting food waste on a hot day made even hotter by govt flying Pigs!)
White House officials said they were satisfied with the proposed standard – given the range of countries’ positions. The European Union and some emerging economics had been reluctant to take stronger action. “This is a really a strong result,” the officials said. “It’s the first ever CO2 standards for aircraft covering existing aircraft.”
But campaign groups suggested the Icao recommendations would do very little to rein in emissions – and in some cases lagged behind technology that was already in use.
(AS I have said- THE SIMPLE SOLUTION is to cut back on Hog gravy that we cannot afford to pay anyway as govt has already borrowed past our limit already! And it might be useful to penalize those cottage owning Hogs who install those “bubble systems” around their precious Muskoka dock so their valuable cedar structures loaded with gas guzzling Toys will not be damaged by winter ice! Think of it- a bunch of electrical powered bubble systems running ALL WINTER- SIX MONTHS STRAIGHT- to keep the water from freezing around the docks of privileged Hogs! What price for our environment now?)
According to an analysis by the International Council on Clean Transportation, some of the top performing commercial aircraft were already achieving the standard – with room to spare. By 2020, eight years before the proposed standards were even due to come into effect, the average aircraft would already be 10% more efficient than the Icao standard.
(In other words such an agreement is ALREADY USELESS- with NO HOPE of cobbling another more effective deal together because LIE-beral Pigs ARE ENTITLED TO FLY! Even if it kills the environment!)
“Given the substantial lead time for the standards, along with anticipated fuel efficiency gains for new aircraft types already in development by manufacturers, the standards will serve primarily to prevent backsliding in emissions,” ICCT said in a statement. “Additional action would be required for the standard to reduce emissions below business as usual.”
(Of course greater fuel efficiency means lower operating costs and MORE PASSENGERS- along with more dirt! Oh my! Get those Pigs OFF the planes!)
Vera Pardee, an attorney for the Centre for Biological Diversity, said the proposed standard put an additional burden on the Obama administration to make good on earlier promises to cut aviation emissions.
The Environmental Protection Agency had been waiting for Icao to bring in its standards before moving to cut emissions from the domestic airline industry.
However, the White House would not say whether the EPA would propose those new domestic standards before Barack Obama leaves the White House.
(And we know that Obama is a LIE-beral and thus ALL TALK and NO ACTION!!! Besides Obama is still busy ducking questions about why he and FBI did not bother acting on reports of Russian meddling in the Yankee election that brought Trump to power! Oh well- its LIE-beral business as usual!)
