Renata lost her husband to a rare form of cancer in March 2016 and her favourite aunt and father died within two weeks, Morris said.

Wynne’s climate change strategy rewards big business while punishing average Ontarians We hear it all the time: “Climate change is real”, “97% of experts agree”, “we must increase our use of green energy to reduce carbon pollution”.
But it is all “duckspeak”, precisely what George Orwell warned us about in his novel 1984. Duckspeak was a form of speech consisting entirely of words and phrases approved by the controlling party in Orwell’s disturbing vision of a dystopian future.
Someone who had mastered duckspeak could fire off ideologically pure assertions like bullets from a machine gun, without thinking, their words emanating from their larynx like the quacking of a duck.
Being called a duckspeaker was a compliment in 1984 since it indicated one was well-versed in the official language and views of the state. We are now in an era of climate change duckspeak.
Rather than being merely ridiculous or social satire, the purpose of climate duckspeak is ominous: To convince opinion leaders and the public to think about climate change only as the government and eco-activists want. To support alternative points of view is “climate change denial”, today’s version of thought crime, punishable by excommunication from responsible citizenry.
(I point out that the LIE-beral `carbon crap and trade` program is exactly like the now disgraced European `crap and trade` model! The E.U. crap and trade allowed for shameless price gouging, rigged stock markets with insider trading of valuable carbon `credits` given out for free by govts to their pals, left fiscal loopholes that were exploited by unscrupulous stock traders working with organized crime-AND failed to clean the air as those people and industries that had the biggest carbon foot prints were EXCUSED from cutting back by govts seeking to curry favour!)
Prime Minister Justin Trudeau sets the stage for climate change duckspeakers by repeatedly asserting, “climate change is real.” Trudeau’s claim is correct but trivial. It is the duckspeak equivalent of proclaiming “sunrise is real”. But Trudeau is employing a strategy right out of 1984.
His statements imply that experts have concluded that unusual climatic events are happening because of humanity, and that government must save us.
U.S. President Barack Obama does the same, asserting in the Cutting Carbon Pollution in America section of the White House web site: “I refuse to condemn your generation and future generations to a planet that’s beyond fixing.”
Referring to greenhouse gases (GHG) as “carbon pollution,” as both Obama and the Canadian government do regularly, is pure duckspeak.
“Carbon pollution” conjures up subconscious images of dark and dangerous emissions of soot.
But what they are almost always discussing is carbon dioxide (CO2). But were they to call it that, most people would be unconcerned, remembering from grade school that CO2 is a trace gas essential for plant photosynthesis.
So government and climate campaigners mislabel it as “carbon” to frighten the public and discourage critical thinking, closely following Big Brother’s strategy in Orwell’s classic.
Similarly, Trudeau and Obama err when they refer to low CO2 emitting energy sources as “clean” or “green” since CO2 isn’t unclean.
But the label promotes an image of environmental wholesomeness, hiding the ineffective and damaging nature of many alternative energy sources.
(I point out that here in Ontari-owe where LIE-beral govt has committed to buying every volt of green energy produced in the province-AHEAD of any other form of generation-we now MUST keep a pack of natural gas fueled generating plants fired up and ready-24 hours a day-seven days a week to be ready at a moments notice to take over from green energy when the sun goes behind a cloud or when the wind does not blow as planned. The grossly costly LIE-beral green energy plan has NOT cleaned our air-but it HAS cleaned our wallets and provided windfall profits to those mostly civil service Hogs and great LIE-beral pals that own wind mills and solar farms-while at the same time subjecting people in the countryside-farmers and such to towering eye sores that emit irritating noises that can make people ILL!)
(Govt has turned rural people into lab rats with this noise issue-and a TVO documentary has illustrated the probable scale and scope of deception regarding that noise-TVO played a documentary from England re a wind farm that was sued and the medical information used to dismiss the claims of the frantic neighbouring land owners was based on readings from a wind tower ONE THIRD the size of the one planted near their house! Yes-the test model used by researchers was MUCH SMALLER AND FARTHER AWAY than the unit being complained about-and judge IGNORED these incorrect measurements and dismissed the complaints- talk about the GOVT FIX being in! One wonders if the judge had stock in that wind farm?)
Finally, the “97% of experts agree” phrase is designed to suppress debate. After all, who would dare contest experts about such a complicated issue?
But appealing to authority or consensus is a logical fallacy that proves nothing about nature. Regardless, the surveys used to back up the consensus argument are unconvincing.
They either asked the wrong questions, or asked scientists who don’t research the causes of climate change, or polled mostly those who would obviously agree with the government.
It is not surprising, then, that language tricks like Orwell’s duckspeak are being used today to justify the unjustifiable in the war of words over global warming.
Tom Harris is executive director of the Ottawa-based International Climate Science Coalition, which opposes the hypothesis carbon dioxide emissions from human activities are known to cause climate problems.
(I say Harris makes some good points about LIE-beral duck speak on the subject of environment and I point out that for most people the debate on climate change has MUCH MORE to do with how to cut back on green house gases-and the great majority of us recognize that NONE of the current LIE-beral initiatives will do ANYTHING to clean the air-it will ONLY BE OUR WALLETS that are cleaned! LIE-berals are treating climate change issues as a grand excuse to set up a HUGE CARBON SLUSH FUND they can dip into as necessary for MORE GRAVY!)
(The quickest way to cut back on green house gases is to cut back on Hog gravy! IN the 9 months after the 9/11 terror attack-during which time 25 percent of the worlds airline fleet was grounded-there WAS a MEASURABLE IMPROVEMENT IN AIR QUALITY! Airplanes produce 75-85 percent of ALL pollution related to transportation-that means that ALL the pollution emitted by cars, trains, trucks buses and ships represents ONLY a FRACTION of the filth spewed by airplanes! Cut back on Hog gravy and they will fly less-AND CLEAN THE AIR while we balance our govt books in the process!)
(It seems obvious that we need to burn less fossil fuel-the problem is how to get it done WITHOUT destroying our economy and rendering millions of people homeless and unemployed! “Doug Ford is my guy and I am telling you is going to be a great premier,” said Grapes.
“I think he is going to be so good, that he will one day he prime minister of Canada too.”
And the legendary hockey broadcaster said he told Doug this himself.
“I was so happy when he won (June 7th) I tried to get a hold of him to congratulate him but I couldn’t seem to get through,” said Cherry.
Seems the message machine was full too. It was a story a lot of Ford’s friends shared post the massive election win. He suddenly was flooded with messages. He couldn’t possible take all of the calls coming in.
Cherry was persistent.
“Finally I called late one night and Doug picked up the phone,” said Cherry.
“I told him how proud I was of him.”
They also reminisced about how much brother Rob would have enjoyed witnessing the landslide win.
Of course they also had a laugh remembering Cherry’s famous speech at Rob Ford’s swearing in ceremony in 2010 when he famously let the leftists know exactly how he felt.
“I’m wearing pink for all the pinkos out there that ride bicycles and everything,” Cherry said. “Put that in your pipe you left-wing kooks.”
It was a classic moment but it didn’t go over well with the people it was intended to insult.
It was just Cherry’s way of standing for Rob.

“Doug is the opposite. He is a more outgoing guy. Both came from the tradition of their father and mother that they are there for the public and to help people do well. I appreciate that. I was a construction worker and I still think like a construction worker.”
So will he be there on June 29th when Doug Ford is sworn in as premier?
“I sure hope so,” said Premier Designate Ford Wednesday. “He is being invited, no question.”
And Grapes can do and say whatever he chooses.
“I can tell you how much I appreciate Don’s support now and over the years for myself and also for Rob who was there for in both good times and bad times,” said Doug Ford. “Don is a great man and has the same supporters that I have. Hard working people. It’s an honour to serve them.”
Hopefully Don attends but whether he is in town or not, he said there is one thing he knows for sure.

Federal funding for health care DROPPED from 57 percent of the total spent down to 17 percent of the total! If LIE-berals run true to pattern we can expect a MAJOR DROP in health care quality over the next few years as LI-berals fiscally punish Ontari-owe for electing Doug Ford instead of Wynne-bag!
Can we expect more jobs or better jobs? NOPE! In the last election Our idiot Boy Justin told us he intended to create lots of good jobs for kids! Sadly- after the election was won- and reality set in- LIE-berals told our kids they had better adjust to being poor and semi employed! As things stand now- Our idiot Boy is focussed on trying to save some of the thousands of jobs that will be LOST if he allows his trade war to continue for some months! The kids are NOW FORGOTTEN!
Can we expect greater racial harmony in future? NOPE! LIE-berals are going out of their way to divide and conquer the various racial groups in our society! Any farmer living on an isolated road near a native reserve will have stories to tell of drunken and drugged up thieves from the reserve brazenly prowling in broad day light seeking stuff to steal and sell for drugs and alcohol! Our idiot Boy thinks the best way to handle this mess is to RIG our jury system to provide MORE excuses for thieves like Coulton Boushie!
Our idiot Boy is also encouraging other races to bitch as well! LIE-berals think it is unfair to jail so many non whites- without bothering to admit that blacks are disproportionate creators of crime thanks to their belief that getting a good education means selling out to white society! And it does not help that there are so few jobs thanks to mad LIE-beral taxes!
The same LIE-beral logic applies to natives- in spite of the statistics that prove natives PREFER JAIL to paying a fine! Yes- if given a choice they will go to jail rather than pay a fine- while the OPPOSITE is true of white criminals- whites pay up and stay out of jail! Somehow- under LIE-beral guidance- this has become bigotry and “white privilege”!
Can we expect a brave new LIE-beral effort to reduce homelessness in Canada? NOPE! LIE-berals are far to busy trying to LIE about the actual number of illegals who have come here to worry about our existing collection of helpless senior citizens and drug addicts and crazy people!
LIE-beral logic is so distorted they think it is unfair to force treatment on sufferers of schizophrenia even though lack of treatment is likely to result in the sufferer being shot by cops- that LIE-berals then quickly accuse of being trigger happy and bigoted- even as LIE-berals DEPRIVE cops of effective tools such as tazers and bean bag guns to knock down and disarm crazy people with weapons!
In addition- LIE-berals are wracking their brains to come up with some way of repairing the not so affordable housing that many Cdns live in! City of Toronto has just demolished over 150 town houses that were too rotten to save- with even more of the affordable stock in the same parlous state! LIE-berals are not keeping up with existing problems much less dealing with the new ones their failed policies are creating!
Besides- a prolonged trade war with Yankees will stress our economy to the point that sober, serious and reliable people will be in desperate need of aid- there will be nothing left over for drug addicts and illegals- nor anything for our poverty stricken basement dwelling kids either!
Can we expect greater national security and better defence against terrorists? NOPE! LIE-berals imported 50,000 mostly Syrian Muslim refugees in 2016 - with the security checks being incredibly LAX! The Muslim refugees were selected from camps run by terror group HAMAS! With HAMAS OFFICIALS doing the vouching for those refugees LIE-berals were interested in selecting! That Hamas holds radical Muslim values and is know for its bitter hate of western values might have deterred sensible people - but LIE-berals operate on blind ideology so letting Hamas have temporary control of a portion of our immigration system should turn out fine? We hope?
And can we hope that there will actually be a reduction in crime rates in future? NOPE! The latest news out of California is that crime is UP significantly due to that state reducing criminal sentencing and punishment! LIE-berals think that showing charity to thugs will win them votes among bigots at Black Lives Matter and among native radicals and among various white social justice warriors who never saw a problem that could not be blamed on white people! Cynics who point to the recent California experience with lower levels of punishment and resulting higher crime rates will be IGNORED by LIE-berals!
Can we hope for better environmental protections? NOPE! LIE-beral policy is spinning in circles like turds in a flushed toilet on the environment! LIE-berals have told us they want to shut down the ENTIRE Cdn oil patch and make Canada FREE of carbon fuel- and also that the Kinder Morgan pipeline and the resulting large scale export of Cdn fossil fuel to world markets is a vital national benefit!
So the entire world is entitled to buy Cdn fosil fuel but any Cdn who wants to use it for themselves is designated as an environmental criminal by LIE-berals! Naturally there will be exceptions to that LIE-beral label! Civil service union Hogs jetting off to Florida for a round of golf are good for the economy at least? Hogs ripping about on sea doos and atv`s and massive gas guzzling motor homes and huge cabin cruisers so large that teens can SURF on the waves they create are also a good thing in LIE-beral land! But some waitress who insists on driving her car home from her late shift because she does not feel safe on the street thanks to LIE-beral hug a thug judges is an ENVIRONMENTAL CRIMINAL!
Apparently there is NO reason for LIE-beral policy to be logical?
Will LIE-berals act to mend fences with Yankees and our NATO allies? NOPE! The flagship of the Cdn fleet is the destroyer HMCS Athabasca- and when the Russians began meddling in Crimea- Athabasca was sent to join a NATO fleet in Black Sea. Athabasca got half way across the Atlantic Ocean before major engine fires forced the navy to tow the ship home for repairs! After substantial work- Athabasca set out again- and suffered more crippling engine fires with another tow home required. So govt chose to send the ancient ship on a good will tour of the Carribean Sea- surely the ship could tolerate the calm tropical seas and sunny weather? NOPE! ANOTHER major engine fire and the flagship of the Cdn navy was towed back to port yet again- and WILL NEVER LEAVE HOME AGAIN- except to the wreckers yard!
And yes- Canadian navy DOES have other ships- local coastal patrol vessels that LACK the sophisticated air defences necessary to head out into deep water within range of enemy aircraft!
And yes- there ARE other ships on order- with the first of them at least FIVE YEARS BEHIND production schedule and who knows when the rest will be completed? LIE-berals certainly have NO CLUE- and do not care to seek one either! Cdn defence spending is at record low levels thanks to LIE-berals with their massive deficits and debts!
And closer to home- we have offended our Yankee neighebours by taking in all those illegals- without bothering to find out who they are or what kind of security risk they represent! Haitians do not seem to be smart enough to commit elaborate credit card scams- but the more recent Nigerian arrivals are NOTORIOUS for their online scams! Washington has been angry for years at the number of scams being run out of Canada and targeting Yankees! Washington DOES NOT want to see MORE such people set up in Canada and use it as a hide out while preying across the border upon Yankee citizens!
Even worse- Yankees are struggling to be world police man and to maintain some sort of order so we do not go down the same road to war as in the Dirty Thirties- and Yankees think it is very rude of Cdn LIE- berals to hide behind Uncle Sam when necessary and to SNEER at Uncle Sam when convenient- hence the Yankee reluctance to jump forward and volunteer to save Canada from an incoming North Korean missile strike!
But LIE-berals could care less what Yankees are worried about so there will be NO softening in relations! In fact I venture to guess it will be newly elected Conservative prime minister Scheer in 2019 who will be in charge of repairing relations and ending the trade war!
