Oh noes, it won't get ratified.

You fell for the media talking point of the day.

They can revise the deal so that it doesn't include exports from one of the member states. I'm sure Italy will be just fine with that.

There will still be plenty of good shit at Grande Cheese, don't worry.

That would be an incredibly stupid move.

Not until we eliminate the supply side management of dairy products. We need free trade between the provinces first.
Kind'a tells you what the free trade types in Canada are all about eh? It's f*cking ridiculous that we have all this international free trade and new agreements in the works when free trade doesn't even exist within Canada itself.

It benefited Hong Kong and Singapore.

The Italian economy is nowhere as vibrant as that of Singapore or Hong Kong. The Germans are holding their breaths once again as a Greek style Italian bail-out looms on the horizon. The EU may not appreciate the Italians messing about in this manner as a larger, planetary trade war looms.

Anyway, a big bag of Euros passed under a table to the Italian Farm Minister is probably all that is required to fix this trade dispute.

Yeah, fascists hate it when people think for themselves.

Singapore and Hong Kong weren't particularly developed when the first embraced free trade decades ago either. Look where they are now. Perhaps Italy could learn a thing or two from them.

And so could Canada.

There's a difference between fantasizing and critical thinking.

This is where Brexit could come in handy for the UK. While Italy can hold the whole of the EU at ransom, the UK could go on to just unilaterally drop all intentional trade barriers against the world and so just bypass a need for an agreement altogether.
