"I'm reading a lot of commentary online to the effect that the Liberals may have managed to pull off that all-important eighth victory, retaining official-party status. As though that's a thing. As though that's something people should get excited about. So it's important to remember the scale of the Ontario Liberal Party's undoing here.
At this writing, they've lost 46 of the 55 seats they held at dissolution. They're looking at 19.1 per cent of the popular vote, which is not quite 3 points shy of the worst-since-Confederation score logged in 1923 by Wellington Hay, a grain farmer and former Listowel mayor who was, until tonight, the least successful Liberal leader in history."
