I have to say one needs to look at what Israel has gained by giving ground...........they remove themselves from Gaza completely, engaging in violence against Jewish settlers to take them out with them, and it is seen as a sign of weakness.............Gaza becomes an instant missle launch centre, and the Palestinians elect Hamas.

And it is not the first time. In 2000 israel, sincerely seeking peace with Hezbollah on its northern borders, withdrew from Lebanon to posistions behind a border line established by the international community.

And exactly what good did THAT do them?

If the Palestinians magically had all their arms and explosives disappear tomorrow, there would be peace.

If the Israelis had all their arms magically disappear tomorrow, there would be a bood bath that would make the holocaust look like a fist fight.

What do you mean 'freedom fighters'? What exactly are they fighting for? They are already 'free'. The Gaza Strip is theirs. They are firing from the Gaza Strip so what exactly are they fighting to be free of? Most puzzling that anyone would deem them to be 'freedom fighters'.

Why would you consider members of an Israeli M1A1 Abrams tank crew 'firing back' at a Palestinian rocket launch site to be 'guilty'? What are they guilty of? It is wrong for one to defend one's own border? I would concur. It's like an IQ test where a sandwich has live wires wrapped around it and is placed in front of a fat guy who loves to eat. He keeps grabbing at the sandwich only to be electrocuted. He becomes angry and continues to grab at the sandwich. He does not stop even to ponder why he keeps getting electrocuted by the sandwich. Gee, like the natives who moved into a whole subdivision in Calgary...handed over to them by the Department of National Defense. We had our nephew out for a drive and he asked 'how come the windows are knocked out of those houses'.
