Ontario PC Party to release details on ‘revelations of anti-Semitism’ involving NDP

The Progressive Conservative Party of Ontario says it will announce “revelations of anti-Semitism” involving the NDP.

In a press release issued by the Ontario PC Party on Thursday afternoon, it said the announcement will be made by party candidates Gila Martow and Todd Smith at a downtown Toronto hotel on Friday morning.

Details surrounding the announcement weren’t released by the party, but it claimed the details are “explosive.”

Global News contacted the Ontario NDP on Thursday evening to ask about the press release. A spokesperson said they aren’t aware of the details and that the party is focusing on getting its message out.

Ontario NDP Leader Andrea Horwath is scheduled to make an announcement in Scarborough and speak with the media shortly after the scheduled PC announcement.

News of the announcement comes after the Ontario Liberal Party released an audio recording that appears to implicate Progressive Conservative Leader Doug Ford and Etobicoke Centre PC candidate Kinga Surma in a scheme to pay for PC memberships in 2016.

Ford denied paying for individual memberships during a campaign stop in Tillsonburg on Thursday. He said he wouldn’t take any actions against Surma.

Controversial Scarborough-Agincourt NDP candidate Tasleem Riaz is an apparent “energy hog” who was taken to the Landlord and Tenant Board last July for not paying her air-conditioning bill, her landlord told the Toronto Sun Friday.
Ed (he didn’t want last name used), the landlord of the 60-unit Thorncliffe Park building where Riaz resides, said of 60 tenants, she has the fourth highest hydro bills (heat, electricity and A/C) and three air-conditioners in her two-bedroom apartment.
From May 2017 to May 2018, she used 5,577 kw/h compared to the lowest consumption at 1,202 kw/h.
A few years ago, Riaz had so many electrical appliances going, she “blew the main fuse” in her apartment, which had to be repaired, Ed added.
“She is head over heels most people in the building (in terms of energy consumption),” he said. “Yet the NDP talks (continually) about conservation.”
The hydro bills are covered in her rent but Riaz had agreed to pay the A/C herself as part of the tenancy agreement she struck with the management company in 2006, when she first moved into the Thorncliffe Dr. building.
He said Riaz hired someone from legal aide to fight the $700 bill ($200 of which was spent to file papers to get her to pay), went through the board process and then ended up just paying the bill.

“We’ll have to go after her this year for it (the payment) because it seems to be an ongoing issue with her,” he said, noting she even sent the property management a letter from her doctor in May of 2017 indicating she’s suffering from a multitude of medical conditions and needs the air conditioning units.
“She’s plenty smart…she knows her way around (the system)…she knows the ropes,” he said.
Riaz has come under fire for the supposedly inspirational Hitler meme posted on her personal Facebook page in 2013 — one liked by seven friends and shared by another. She has denied posting it, claiming her Facebook page was hacked.
In another 2011 Facebook post, Riaz referred to the Canadian mission to Afghanistan as a “slaughtering machine” — urging her fellow “Muslim brothers and sisters” to vote for former NDP leader Jack Layton.
Riaz did not return requests for comment. Neither did a spokesperson from the NDP campaign.

(The reaction to the opinion of a bond rating service like Moody`s should conjure one word about Ontari-owe in tax payers minds: “screwed”! As in we are!)

TORONTO — A key ratings agency has downgraded its outlook on Ontario’s finances to “negative” from “stable” in light of the Liberal government’s plan to run six consecutive multibillion-dollar deficits.

Moody’s Investor Services says spending pressure will challenge the province’s ability to “sustain balanced fiscal results” over a number of years.

(This is polite banker speak meaning that NONE of those grand promises made by LIE-berals and NDPers will ever see the light of day! Whoever gets elected will also be getting the BILLS- and the expectation of bankers that DEFICIT SPENDING MUST END! Failure to heed the warning will result in an array of NASTY PENALTIES and punishments- read up on the messes in Greece and Cyprus for a look at reality!)

Moody’s also says financing requirements on the province’s debt — projected to be $325 billion in 2018-2019 — will be larger than previously believed, leading to a faster increase in interest expenses.

Premier Kathleen Wynne defended the government’s pre-election budget, which will run a $6.7-billion deficit in 2018-2019, saying Moody’s change wasn’t a credit downgrade, which would effect borrowing costs for the province.

(No- its not a credit downgrade- its just fair warning that if anybody other than Ford gets elected then we can expect the cost of running Ontari-owe to SOAR! We can elect anybody we want- but there IS a higher price for some than for others!)

The opposition Progressive Conservatives criticized the government, saying interest on the province’s debt, projected at $12.5 billion this year, is already crowding out services like health care, education and infrastructure upgrades.

Moody’s maintained Ontario’s Aa2 issuer and Aa2 senior unsecured long-term debt ratings despite the change in outlook. Ontario heads to the polls on June 7.

(LIE-berals and NDPers have criticized Fiord for not having a fully detailed spending plan- as if simply saying NO to new spending- that will mainly go to civil service union Hogs anyway-required a whole lot of thought! Ontari-owe spends over 75 percent of the entire budget on Hog salaries and pensions and it is the Hog pensions that are the fiscal KILLER! My parents always objected to air conditioning because of the cost mainly- but there is something to be said for their idea of going out in whatever weather and getting acclimatized!



And of course the relentless electricity price gouging of LIE-berals does not help the matter!


The other issue with air conditioning is the as GTA grows it becomes ever more of a "heat island"- trapping ever more mid day sunshine in masses of concrete- to allow it to radiate back out half the night!


This is a function of the Toronto official plan! City planners want to jam another MILLION PEOPLE into Toronto and this means huge new slabs of concrete will be available to hold in summer heat much longer than used to be the case- Toronto planners are literally FORCING people to use air conditioning in self defense- and there are no longer any large shade trees on our streets to act as NATURAL AIR CONDITIONERS!


Check it out with a thermometer- there will be about 15 degrees celsius difference between a yard in full mid day sun and a yard in deep shade!
